The way the protagonist's problems are solved so easily makes it feel less believable. It would have been better if there had been more challenges and a more satisfying resolution.

It was a truly cute little read.

She heads back to her hometown of Middletown, Missouri, wallowing in self-pity and bad luck. But fate has a strange twist in store. Malcom, who has a heart condition, ends up at the local hospital in Middletown.

Ann sees this as her golden opportunity to finally get the "big get" without him even being aware of it.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book from a purely escapist perspective,

it was rather disappointing that I could effortlessly predict what was going to occur long before it actually happened.
