Def. chick lit. I absolutely adored it though.

I thought the main character's revelations regarding her career and fulfillment were especially interesting. It was a cute romance story. Predictable, yes - but also really good.

The main character is a writer for a gossip magazine who has always relished rubbing elbows with celebrities during the interview process. However, she encounters a particularly difficult obstacle (pardon my cheesiness...I just couldn't help it) when she comes across the famous actor Malcom.

She loses her job because she can't obtain a story on him and returns to her small hometown to recover. Only to discover that her former nemesis is recuperating in the same hospital where she is volunteering as a candy striper. Naturally, she has to write a story, doesn't she?

This sets the stage for a series of events that are both charming and engaging, filled with twists and turns that keep the reader hooked from start to finish.

The story explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, all while maintaining a light-hearted and entertaining tone.

Overall, it's a delightful read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and enjoyable romance novel.

Cute but trite. This description accurately sums up the piece in question.

It lacks originality and fails to engage the reader on a deeper level.

I wouldn't have read it had it not been for a friend who gave it to me.

Perhaps my friend thought it was charming, but to me, it felt like a rehash of familiar themes and ideas.

The characters were one-dimensional, and the plot was predictable.

Despite its cuteness, it simply didn't have the substance to hold my interest.

I found myself skimming through the pages, eager to reach the end.

Overall, it was a forgettable read that didn't leave a lasting impression.

Maybe it would appeal to a younger audience or those who prefer light-hearted and uncomplicated stories.

But for me, it just didn't cut the mustard.

This is the Jane Heller I remember, and thank goodness!

After reading the disappointing An Ex To Grind, I was truly worried that one of my favorite authors had somehow lost her magic touch. However, this funny, engaging and surprisingly moving novel completely repudiated my concerns.

Ann Roth is a celebrity journalist for "Famous" magazine. She has been assigned the biggest "get" in contemporary Hollywood, Malcolm Goddard. He is a Hollywood bad boy, reclusive and deliberately difficult with all media, whom he views as parasitic. Ann loses her job because he will only answer her questions while he's up in his Cessna, and she's deathly afraid to fly.

What follows is a fascinating regrouping. An intention to get revenge that gradually turns into something very different. There's also a terrifically touching discussion of panic disorder and agoraphobia. I'm more familiar with these than I'd like to be. I initially thought I would be offended when these topics were introduced, as they're often placed in quotation marks, as if they're not real diseases and don't actually ruin lives. But it was very different here, and I was profoundly grateful.

Jane Heller's wicked wit, sparkling prose and fun storytelling make a more-than-welcome return. I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to see what would happen next. I'm so glad to see the Jane I remember, and I sincerely hope she never goes away again.

I managed to understand this book as early as on page 2. It's truly a mystery to me why I didn't simply turn to the last page and skip over all the pointless drivel in between.

Perhaps I was hoping for some hidden gems or unexpected twists along the way. But as it turns out, most of the content seemed rather redundant and uninteresting.

It makes me wonder if I could have saved a significant amount of time by taking a more shortcut approach. However, on the other hand, maybe there were some subtleties that I missed by not reading the entire book thoroughly.

Nonetheless, from now on, I'll be more cautious when deciding whether to invest my time in reading a book cover to cover or just skip to the end and get the gist.

Overall, this experience has taught me a valuable lesson about the importance of being discerning when it comes to reading materials.

This book was okay, but it had its drawbacks.

One of the main issues was that it was a bit predictable. From the very beginning, it was possible to guess how the story would unfold and what the outcome would be. This lack of surprise made it less engaging and exciting to read.

Another problem was that some of the events and情节 seemed unlikely. They didn't quite fit within the context of the story and felt forced or contrived. This made it difficult to suspend disbelief and fully immerse oneself in the book.

Overall, while the book had some redeeming qualities, the predictability and unlikelihood of the story detracted from the reading experience. It could have been a lot better if the author had taken more risks and made the story more original and believable.

Overall, it is a wonderful read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lighthearted and enjoyable love story.

I have been a devoted fan of Jane Heller's writing for numerous years.

There were certain portions of the book that, to be honest, seemed to drag a little bit. However, the overall fun and lightness of the entire book more than compensated for those moments. In fact, it made the reading experience pass by much faster than one might expect.

Overall, it can be described as a quick read. Jane Heller has a unique wit in her writing that has the remarkable ability to make the most mundane and ordinary things seem humorous and entertaining. It's this particular aspect of her writing that I truly appreciate.

Her words have the power to bring a smile to my face and make me forget about the stresses of the day. I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

What a truly boring "chick-lit" this is!

To be fair, it did have a few moments that managed to catch my attention. There were some scenes that seemed to hold a glimmer of potential.

However, when looking at the book as a whole, it's just meh. The story lacked depth and originality. The characters felt rather one-dimensional and their actions and decisions were often predictable.

The writing style was also quite平淡, failing to draw me in and keep me engaged throughout the entire read. It was a struggle to get through some of the chapters, and I found myself constantly looking forward to the end.

In conclusion, this "chick-lit" is not one that I would recommend. It may have had a few bright spots, but they were not enough to salvage the overall mediocrity of the book.

Just a fun flaky read.

Anne Roth is a real journalist who is dedicated to searching for the truth rather than indulging in gossip or rumor in the glitzy Hollywood scene. She is a nice person, but her boss has a different expectation, desiring a ruthless reporter who will do anything to get the story. Together, they go on interviews.

When Anne sets out to interview the elusive Michael Goddard, she attempts some stunts that unfortunately backfire horribly. She quickly realizes that he also knows how to play dirty. As a result, she gets fired and has to head back to her small town.

Surprisingly, Goddard turns up in the local hospital for a procedure that he wants to keep quiet. They meet again, and although Anne initially messes things up, she manages to secure the interview.

Her job back in Hollywood, the same place where Goddard lives, is waiting for her. And the rest of the story is fairly predictable. The entire novel follows a predictable pattern, but that's what makes it just a light and fluffy read. It's not a deep or thought-provoking piece of literature, but rather a simple and enjoyable escape.

Overall, it's a story that offers some entertainment value, but don't expect anything too profound or unexpected.
