This novel truly reads like a classic high-stakes, gangster-themed, globe-trotting movie. It is an incredibly exciting book that has the power to keep you completely engrossed, eagerly turning the pages to discover what lies ahead.

The author has done an outstanding job in constructing the story in such a way that it effectively builds up the reader's intense hatred towards the extremely warped antagonist. You can't help but despise this character for all the heinous acts and immoral deeds they commit.

Simultaneously, the author also manages to instill in the reader the hope that justice will ultimately be served rightfully. This sense of hope adds an extra layer of depth and emotional investment to the story, making it not just a thrilling read but also a thought-provoking one.

Overall, this novel is a must-read for anyone who enjoys action-packed, crime-themed stories with complex characters and a strong sense of justice.

I listened to the unabridged audio of this book. My sister passed it my way when she was done.

When she handed it to me, she said, "Give it a few chapters before you give up on it. It starts out slow." I put the CD in during a long car drive and was hooked from the very beginning. I didn't think it started slow at all. In fact, I listened to the entire thing in just a couple of days.

Some parts of the story were predictable, while others caught me completely by surprise. It was a fun guessing game to see how many pieces of the plot I could guess correctly. The twists and turns were truly awesome and well thought out.

The two main characters, Nick and Andy, were easy to love. You couldn't help but root for the good guys with these two. He was determined, caring, loyal, and honest. She was independent, wild, and funny. I guessed right from the start that Nick and Andy would form a bond, but I had no idea where it would take them. In the end, I was happy with where it did.

The sound effects and music within the audio of this book were okay. There were times when I could have done without so much of it. I liked the gunshots and the screeching of tires, but the slow songs during the romantic scenes were a little cheesy.

The end was NOT what I expected. Some parts were, but other parts were not. Before the last CD, I would have given this book a 4.5 star rating. However, the ending ruined it a little. I can't totally explain without spoilers, so I'll let you judge for yourself if you check out this book.

Overall, it was an enjoyable listen with great characters and an exciting plot, despite the slightly disappointing ending.

One of the best Patterson!!

Andie DeGrasse, an aspiring actress and single mom, is truly not your typical juror. With the hope of getting dismissed from the juror pool, she boldly tells the judge that the majority of her legal knowledge actually stems from a rather unique source - a bit part where she was curling around the stripper's pole in The Sopranos. It's quite an unconventional admission. However, despite her efforts to avoid it, fate has other plans. She still ends up as juror number 11 in a landmark trial that is set against a notorious mob boss. This unexpected turn of events now places Andie in a position where she will have to rely on her limited legal understanding and her wits to navigate through the complex legal proceedings and make a fair judgment.

Probably my favourite Patterson ever!

This statement holds a great deal of significance for me. Patterson's works have always been a source of inspiration and entertainment, but this particular one stands out above the rest.

From the moment I picked it up, I was captivated by the engaging storyline and well-developed characters. The author's unique writing style draws you in and keeps you hooked until the very end.

Each page turn brings new surprises and twists, making it impossible to put the book down. The plot is filled with excitement, mystery, and a touch of romance, creating a perfect blend that appeals to a wide range of readers.

Not only is the story itself amazing, but Patterson's attention to detail and ability to create a vivid and believable world is truly remarkable. You can almost feel like you are a part of the action, experiencing everything along with the characters.

In conclusion, this book is without a doubt my favourite Patterson to date. It has exceeded my expectations and left me eagerly anticipating his next masterpiece.

My biggest gripe is that the penultimate chapter of Judge & Jury had a strange and needless “twist” in it. In this twist, two characters acted in a very uncharacteristic manner. It is blatantly evident that Patterson and Gross were attempting to wrap up loose ends and camouflage it with artificial bravado. This is precisely the reason for the three-star rating.

Apart from that, Judge & Jury is an acceptable book. It is the literary equivalent of junk food - fast, simple, and moderately fulfilling. Additionally, it is pleasant that Judge & Jury is just a standalone novel. There is no need to worry about following a complex series or getting bogged down in a convoluted backstory. It offers a straightforward and enjoyable reading experience, perfect for those times when you just want to relax and unwind with a quick read.

Overall, while the “twist” in the second to last chapter was a bit of a letdown, Judge & Jury still has its merits and can be an entertaining choice for readers looking for a light and easy read.

"Judge & Jury" is an excellent and fast-paced read that keeps you on the edge of your seat! FBI agent Nick Pellisante has been doggedly pursuing Mafia don Dominic Cavello for a long time, and finally, he gets his chance to bring him to trial.

Andie DeGrasse, a woman with a young son to care for, is called for jury duty at Cavello's trial. She has no interest in serving as a juror as her focus is on her family. She attempts to get out of it, presenting various excuses to the judge. However, the judge is not swayed and insists that she fulfill her duty.

Cavello, with his usual bravado, proclaims that the trial will never reach a conclusion. And, unfortunately, he turns out to be right. The trial comes to a dramatic and unexpected end, leaving Andie to suffer the consequences.

Despite the setbacks, Nick and Andie find common ground and make it their mission to ensure that Cavello is brought to justice. Their determination and the challenges they face make for a thrilling and engaging story that will keep readers hooked from start to finish.

Not one of the best entries from the Patterson stable but it was entertaining.

The main characters, Andy and Nick, are nice. They meet at the trial of a major criminal. Then, the criminal escapes from the courtroom, resulting in a lot of deaths. One of the dead is Andy's son. So, the pair decides to set out and kill the two men responsible. The story progresses quickly, with short chapters and plenty of action.

The epilogue is superb. It is well planned and the book finishes on a high note. Overall, it is a good book, but not a brilliant one. It has its flaws, but it is still an enjoyable read. The characters are likable and the action keeps the reader engaged. However, it may not be the most memorable or outstanding work from Patterson. Nevertheless, it is worth reading for those who enjoy fast-paced thrillers.

Normal Patterson:

The plot of this story is really good. The characters are well-defined, making it easy for the reader to follow and understand their motives and actions. It's the kind of story where the good guys ultimately come out on top, which is always satisfying.

However, there are a couple of aspects that I'm not too keen on. There is some cussing and graphic sex in the book. While these elements may add a certain level of realism for some readers, I prefer to pass over them and focus on the mystery and thriller aspects of the story.

Thankfully, without these two elements, it's still very much my kind of mystery/thriller. The audiobook version is well-read by Joe Mantegna, who does a great job of bringing the story to life. His voice and delivery add an extra layer of depth and excitement to the narrative.

Overall, despite the few drawbacks, I would still recommend this book to fans of the mystery/thriller genre.

This book was truly and legitimately terrible.

It was so juvenile in its writing style, with an excessive use of exclamation points and ridiculous italicized words to emphasize random elements within the sentences. I actually took the time to count on one occasion because I thought perhaps I was going crazy. In a simple 5-line paragraph, there were a whopping eight sentences! EIGHT! That's how short and unfinished the majority of the writing felt.

It was as if a high school student had written a book about a cool FBI agent, detailing all the cool things an FBI agent might do, how he would interact with a girl, and all the cool things he might say. Oh wait, maybe there should be a car chase at the end!!

Definitely my first and last Patterson book. I have absolutely no idea how this book has managed to receive 4-star reviews. It just doesn't make sense to me considering the subpar quality of the writing.

I would not recommend this book to anyone looking for a well-written and engaging read. It was a major disappointment.

I simply can't fathom that it required two authors to pen this.!! Seriously, an ordinary or even a slightly below-average individual could have composed this while half dozing. And Patterson is a figure who is so renowned and widely read. It was a rapid read as there wasn't an abundance of content, and one could effortlessly flip through the pages without omitting anything. There was no need for such a large number of pages to convey this brief story. The copy I possess is a hard-bound one, and it truly made me feel inclined to strike my own head with it as a cautionary reminder for me not to pick up Patterson's work anytime soon.

I expected more from Patterson, especially considering his reputation. But this particular piece was a major letdown. It lacked depth and substance, and the story felt rushed and underdeveloped. I hope his future works will be more engaging and worthwhile.

Hoping to be dismissed from the juror pool, she boldly tells the judge that most of her knowledge stems from a minor role as a stripper in "The Sopranos." However, despite her attempts, she still finds herself serving as a juror in a landmark trial against a notoriously dangerous mob boss.

Patterson and Andrew Gross masterfully craft a heart-pounding story that pits two individuals against a vicious and extremely powerful mobster. The narrative is filled with engaging characters that draw the reader in from the very beginning.

Moreover, there are enough unexpected twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of their seat, eagerly turning the pages to discover what will happen next. It is truly a captivating read that will leave you breathless.
