This was an extremely short read, yet it was just lovely.

I truly relished the fantasy concept presented within it. Lois Lowry's creative ideas have always been a source of admiration for me.

This book envisions how we dream and the reasons behind it. The concept that we are bestowed with dreams composed of fragments gathered from our memories, life experiences, and belongings is truly fascinating.

It was poignant and touching, and in very subtle manners, it hinted at the deep, profound sadness and trauma endured by one of the main characters.

Despite its brevity, this book had a significant impact on me. It packed a powerful punch, and I simply adored it.

It left me with a sense of wonder and a desire to explore more of Lois Lowry's works.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a thought-provoking and engaging read, regardless of its short length.

It proves that sometimes, even the shortest of stories can have a lasting impression.

Probably from a craftsmanship perspective, it might be rated as a 4. However, it earns bonus points because of its significant influence on me as a baby. I first read it approximately in 2007.

This piece had a profound impact on my early development. It opened up a world of imagination and inspiration for me. The words and ideas within it seemed to speak directly to my young mind, captivating my attention and sparking my curiosity.

Even though I was just a baby at the time, the influence of this article has stayed with me throughout the years. It has shaped my perspective and influenced my interests in ways that I may not even fully realize.

Looking back, I am grateful for having come across this article at such a young age. It has truly been a remarkable and influential piece in my life.

How cute and beloved it was. How quickly it ended. Now I have nothing left to read on the way back :((

I loved Louis Lowry because of her writing about children who are completely different from myself. I was a child and had no understanding or perception of children who cause pain...

But now, I feel that I have distanced myself from that world. There is a kind of sadness; I can no longer see the children in Louis Lowry's stories as my own kind. Now I have stepped into the position of adults. And, at the same time, it's a new experience for me :)

The book gave me a very good feeling overall. 3.5 stars to 4.

There are just some books,

that although classified as children’s literature,

truly defy that “box”.

This particular one was a touching tale,

meant for all ages,

and I firmly believe that everyone can glean valuable lessons from it.

The power of noticing others,

showing kindness towards them,

and caring for them runs deep within the fabric of this story.

I haven't yet come across a book by this author that fails to leave me with a more positive outlook on life,

in even the tiniest of ways.

It's as if each word is carefully crafted to touch our hearts and make us better people.

The story unfolds in a way that engages readers of all ages,

making it a timeless piece of literature.

Whether you're a child or an adult,

this book has the potential to make a difference in how you view the world and interact with those around you.

This book truly had a profound impact on me, making me cry my eyes out. If that isn't a strong enough recommendation, here is an actual in-depth review.

I absolutely adored Littlest One. She was brimming with adorable life and enthusiasm, and her relationship with Thin Elderly was simply precious. I found myself growing to despise the Sinisteeds, especially when I discovered how they were created. The older lady and Toby were so sweet, and I loved seeing how they did their utmost to assist John. His past, with the way it had skewed him yet still had small remnants of childish innocence, was truly heartbreaking. I wholeheartedly agreed with Littlest One when she declared her love for him. The battle between happy dreams and nightmares was captivating, and I really liked the emphasis on the significance of stories and memories.

However, it's important to note that this book is not recommended for younger readers due to the presence of a fragmented family, which includes an extremely abusive father.

The best quote from the book is: "Huddled on the couch, clutching the phone, the young woman began to cry. 'Tell him I dreamed about him last night,' she said."

All in all, I found this to be an excellent read, even though it's not the type of story I typically gravitate towards. ;)

TW: child abuse, domestic abuse, nightmares

For enthusiasts of A Monster Calls, Gossamer unfolds the captivating narrative of a dream-giver and the young boy to whom she imparts dreams. This boy is a deeply troubled soul, burdened by a disturbing past. He desperately requires all the pleasant dreams he can obtain, especially with the Sinisteed Horde rapidly closing in on him, determined to inflict horrifying nightmares upon him.

\\"Sad parts are important... you must include the sad parts, because they are part of the story, and they have to be part of the dreams.\\"

The book is concise yet bittersweet, delving into darker themes compared to most of Lowry's works. I yearn for more within this world, as it is极其 interesting and unique. I have a profound love for sandman-esque tales. The worldbuilding was executed masterfully, and the characters were all outstanding. I relished every moment of it.

\\"Change means leaving things behind, and that's always sad.\\"

This was such an unexpected story. It truly got me thinking that I should take the time to revisit the Lois Lowry canon and explore more of her remarkable works.

I happened to come across this particular book in a bookstore during my vacation. On a whim, I decided to sit down and spend an afternoon with it. It's a very slim volume, which makes it easily readable in just one sitting.

Essentially, the story is told from the perspective of tiny creatures. Although their appearance is only vaguely described, I couldn't help but picture them as fairy-like. These creatures have the unique ability to transfer dream fragments to humans. However, conflict arises when they have to defend the humans from their counterparts, who deliver nightmares.

While the story is told from the POV of these creatures and initially seems very ethereal, there is actually an unexpected depth in the characterization. The humans in this story have incredibly developed backstories, and the relaying of their often tragic experiences is filled with so much tenderness.

I would highly recommend this book to adult readers who have an appreciation for middle grade literature. I believe that from an adult perspective, we can gain a deeper understanding of the story, and this makes the messages within it that much more meaningful.

When I was younger, I had an intense love for this book. It was like a precious treasure that I held dear to my heart.

Revisiting it now has been an absolute delight. It's as if I have stepped back into a world of my childhood memories, filled with warmth and comfort.

The words on the pages seem to come alive, transporting me to a time when life was simpler and full of wonder.

It's truly amazing how a single book can have such a profound impact on our lives, and this one will always hold a special place in mine.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to rediscover this literary gem and experience the joy it brings all over again.

It's like a gentle embrace that makes me feel at peace and reminds me of the beauty and magic that lies within the pages of a good book.

I really liked the book.

At the very beginning, when I first picked up the book and started reading, I had the impression that it was rather boring. The story seemed to unfold in a rather slow and uninteresting manner, and I almost put the book down.

However, as I continued to read, something amazing happened. The plot gradually thickened, and more and more interesting characters and events emerged. The author's writing style also became more engaging, and I found myself getting more and more involved in the story.

In the end, I was completely hooked. The book had turned out to be much better than I had initially thought. It had a satisfying ending that tied up all the loose ends and left me with a sense of fulfillment. I'm really glad that I didn't give up on the book when I thought it was boring at first. It just goes to show that sometimes, you have to be patient and keep reading to discover the true gems within a book.

It was an extremely thought-provoking experience, just like all of Lois Lowry's remarkable books.

Lois Lowry has a unique talent for crafting stories that not only engage the reader but also make them stop and reflect.

Her works have the power to transport us to different worlds and introduce us to characters with complex emotions and dilemmas.

This particular book was no exception. It delved deep into themes such as identity, morality, and the consequences of our actions.

As I turned the pages, I found myself constantly questioning my own beliefs and values.

The story was so well-written that it left a lasting impression on me, making me eager to explore more of Lois Lowry's literary masterpieces.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read that challenges their thinking and broadens their perspective.
