I initially had the impression that Chomsky was going to delve deeply into Dewey's Ideas on Education. This was because he himself had studied in a school of a similar nature. However, upon reading the book, I found that it focused more on Wars and Propaganda rather than anything else.

It does make an attempt to relate these aspects back to the Education System, which clearly selects for Obedience. But this attempt seems, at best, half-hearted. I really don't understand the purpose behind writing this book. I was inclined to give it just one star.

Nevertheless, like any other Chomsky Book, this one is also filled with a plethora of Facts. This is definitely a plus point. The abundance of information provided can be quite valuable for those who are interested in the subject matter. However, the lack of a more in-depth exploration of Dewey's ideas and the somewhat disjointed connection to the Education System leaves something to be desired.

Overall, while the book has its merits in terms of the facts it presents, it fails to live up to my expectations in terms of a comprehensive and coherent analysis of the relevant topics.

In this book, Chomsky presents the idea that students are often indoctrinated with the concept of democracy and patriotism.

He argues that instead, students should be left to discover the true nature of democracy on their own and practice it naturally.

The book also delves into the problems within the education system and the foreign policies that many students remain unaware of.

My favorite aspect of the book is when Chomsky offers an example to illustrate what education truly is. He states that "Education is not to be seen as something like filling a vessel with water; rather, it is about assisting a flower to grow in its own way."

Initially, I had a positive impression of the book. However, as I progressed, I became confused because the author assumes that the reader has prior knowledge of numerous foreign policies and events.

Moreover, the author fails to provide a more in-depth explanation of the solutions for the education system.

I would recommend this book to those who have a significant understanding of history and a passion for the subject.

Overall, the book is neither outstanding nor terrible. It has its strengths and weaknesses, but it does offer some thought-provoking ideas.

This book is not what I thought it would be at all.

I picked it up simply to explore some of Chomsky's work. In that regard, I suppose I obtained what I desired from it.

However, it mainly consists of a great deal of discussion about politics.

The author delves into various political issues and presents Chomsky's perspectives and analyses.

While this may be interesting for those with a keen interest in politics, it might not be what others were expecting.

Nonetheless, it provides valuable insights into Chomsky's thoughts and ideas on the subject.

Overall, although it didn't meet my initial expectations, it still offers something worthwhile for those willing to engage with the political discussions presented within its pages.

Chomsky is a figure that everyone should get to know through reading.

This book presented information that was similar to what I had just read in "Shock Doctrine," yet it lacked the doctrine aspect.

I simply couldn't read this book on a daily basis. In fact, it took me over a year to complete it. I read 80 pages, then set it aside for a year. After that, I picked it up again and finished it within a week.

I can't claim that I would relish reading it again, unless I were to pursue studies in political science or a related field. However, I'm glad that I read something written by Chomsky rather than just watching all of his speeches.

His works offer a unique perspective and valuable insights into various aspects of society and politics.

Although it may have been a challenging read at times, it was definitely worth the effort.

It broadened my understanding and made me think more critically about the world around us.

Chomsky's ideas continue to be relevant and influential, and reading his works is an important step in becoming an informed and engaged citizen.

This was rather standard Chomsky.

I was somewhat disappointed as it placed more emphasis on propaganda (and the US's support for anti-democratic regimes in the Third World) rather than on education.

However, both aspects are highly relevant in this day and age.

The issue of propaganda has a significant impact on how information is disseminated and received, shaping public opinions and perceptions.

Similarly, education plays a crucial role in equipping individuals with the knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to navigate the complex world we live in.

Although the focus may have been more on one area than the other, it was not a waste of time.

By understanding the dynamics of propaganda and the actions of powerful countries, we can better appreciate the importance of a well-informed and educated citizenry.

Moreover, this analysis can serve as a catalyst for further exploration and discussion on these vital topics.

Overall, while it may not have met all of my expectations, it still provided valuable insights and food for thought.

The point is interesting, but it can be written in half a page. Even in one-third of a page.

It is a very informative and detailed book, but extremely boring to read.

The author seems to have gone into great depth in presenting the information, covering every little aspect. However, this excessive detail has made the reading experience rather dull.

Perhaps if the author had been more selective in what to include and had presented the content in a more engaging way, the book would have been more enjoyable.

As it stands, it feels like a chore to get through, despite the valuable information it contains.

It's a pity that such a potentially useful book has been let down by its lack of readability.

The book starts congruent with the title, which gives the reader a clear expectation of what to expect.

However, as the story progresses, it begins to divagate more than halfway through.

This means that the plot starts to deviate from the original theme or idea, and the reader may become confused or lose interest.

It is important for an author to stay focused on the main story and not get sidetracked by unnecessary details or subplots.

Otherwise, the book may end up feeling disjointed and unsatisfying.

Perhaps the author could have done a better job of editing and revising the manuscript to ensure that the story stayed on track and remained engaging from start to finish.

Overall, while the book had a promising start, the divagation in the middle detracted from the overall reading experience.
