i liked this book a lot because it teaches the reader how to be sucsesfull. also it teaches you about real e state. like how to chose what BUILDING YOU WANT TO BUY. it teaches you how to live the good life when you got money like how to chose your apartment like if there is no view don`t buy the apartment. or if you are selling a apartment with a view always charge more because the better view the more money if theres no view then you lower the price. it also teaches you how to save money in stock witch i think is impossible because the stock is going down everyday. it also teaches you how to buy a house if you have 4 people in you family you should buy a 3 bedroom house witch i also disagree with because there are 4 people in my family and we have a 5 bedroom house. it also explains how to invest in stuff like gold and such more.
i can connect this book to my life because my family bought a house but we didnt listen to what he said we listened to our self`s because the more room you have in a house the better it is and what he tried to say is the less room the better but that is not true.
i give this book a 3 because it did not teach me so good stuff like to invest in stock and the smaller the better no that is not true and i like a book to tell me the truth but some of the book was nice and interesting.

This book was a disappointment. It really had very little to do with finances. It was rather like Trump decided to ramble on and on about everything from his favorite shampoo to his time on the apprentice.

There were a few gems of wisdom in this book. Trump is a big believer in hiring interior decorators and honestly I would never have thought about hiring one for my personal home. Maybe a business. But, Trump convinced me. Whenever I next move (and can afford it) I think I will give a decorator a try.

This book was mildly entertaining but otherwise nearly worthless.

The How to Get Rich sequel. Sage business advice stops halfway through, however, supplanted by tales from "The Apprentice" and his daily schedule... making Never Give Up and Art of the Deal more informative, inspiring books. Trump-haters need only read this paragraph to gauge his tenacity with their lack of it :

================
“Years ago they decided to do a “Who is the cheapest millionaire?” test. They sent checks in amounts from $0.50 to $5.00 to a list of millionaires throughout the country. I received a check of fifty cents, and we at the Trump Organization deposited it. They may call it cheap; I call it watching the bottom line. The higher you climb on the list of billionaires, the cheaper people become. Every dollar counts in business, and for that matter every dime. Penny pinching? You bet. I’m all for it.”

10 Ways to Think Like a Billionaire
————————————————
1. “Don’t take vacations. What’s the point? If you’re not enjoying work, you’re in the wrong job.”
2. “Have a short attention span…. you can get more done faster that way.”
3. “Don’t sleep any more than you have to. I usually sleep about 4 hours a night.”
4. “Don’t depend on technology… I don’t even have an ATM card; I’ve never used one in my life.”
5. “Think of yourself as a one-man army… and live to the hilt.”
6. “It’s often to your advantage to be underestimated.”
7. “Success breeds success. The best way to impress people is through results.”
8. “Friends are good, but family is better.”
9. “Treat each decision like a lover… the day I realized it’s sometimes smart to be shallow was, for me, a deep experience.”
10. “Be curious… hungry to understand your immediate world. Otherwise you’ll lack the perspective to see beyond yourself.”

Real Estate
——————
“Always negotiate.”

“I would never spend more than 25% of what I earn on rent.”

“The real estate market can be terrifying, which is part of the reason I love it so much.”

“If you simply cannot afford a house that you love, don’t be shy about underbidding. Sometimes the seller will surprise you.”

“Never, ever accept a first offer, and always ask for better terms. Negotiate or be eaten alive… mortgages are designed to be haggled over, and not to do so is the equivalent of burning money in the street.”

“Know the tax history of the property.”

“I always think of interests rates simply as the cost of money…. like a yearly membership fee or a utility bill.”

“The lower the interest rates, the higher the possible fees. Read the fine print.”

“Renovation equals devotion… you should be as attentive to details as I am, no matter what the scale of your project.”

“I’ll be driving down the highway, see a great tree, and ask my limo driver to pull over. I’ll knock on the door. It’s usually a woman… and I’ll say, “Hi lady, I’d love to buy your tree.” She’ll say, ‘Oh my God, it’s Donald Trump! I can’t believe this is happening.’ … I’ve bought a lot of great trees that way…”

Wealth :
—————
“When you have a lot of money, it can cause misery. But I’d rather have that kind of misery, then the misery without it.”

“You can create luck… Even if you’re broke or in debt, your luck can change. You have to work hard to make that luck change.”

“Good investors are good students. It’s as simple as that. I spend hours each day reading the financial media.”

“You should think of your money as your staff. You wouldn’t let your staff sit around, so don’t let your money sit around either.”

“You should always feel comfortable bargaining for goods and services. I do it all the time… Even in high-end shops, I bargain.”

“I’ve walked into stores and offered $2000 for a $10,000 item. It can be embarrassing for me especially since everyone knows that I’m Trump and I’m wealthy, but you’d be amazed at the discounts you can get if you simply ask.”

“It’s moronic to be too proud to save money.”

“Pay attention to the small numbers in your finances, such as percentages and cents. The numbers that seem trivial add up, and have enormous implications.”

“My parents hammered frugality into me at an early age, and it’s the most important money-management skill a person can use… financial smarts.”

“Never fall in love with any of your investments.”

“Money, like anything, takes maintenance and planning to grow. Don’t ignore it, because if you do, you’re going to lose it.”

“Twenty percent of your priorities will give you 80% of your productivity… focus your time, energy and efforts on the top 20% of your priorities. That’s a 4:1 return on your investment.”

“If you have a great idea, no matter how much work it will require, get going. Don’t just sit there. There’s nothing more criminal and self-destructive than having a great idea and then putting it off.”

“Get a move on! Being rich isn’t a passive state.”

“Don’t take on debt for regular expenses. Debt should be used only to finance ventures and projects that will have a return to you.”

“… One area you can never stop working on in life is your money.”

“Wealth is a vehicle to achieve clearly defined goals.”

“People say, “Oh we don’t talk about money”, like it’s a swear-word or something. This stigma is asinine. It’s like enjoying being illiterate.”

“Your financial statement is your report card. If you’ve worked hard for an “A”, don’t let anyone downgrade you to a “D”.”

Work Habits :
——————
“Being ahead of the pack is the best place to be.”

“You are your own storefront, your own manager, and your own brand. So don’t screw it up by making bad business decisions in life.”

“Don’t ask other people questions you should be asking yourself. Billionaires think for themselves, stopping to review themselves and check their motivations at each step of the way.”

“Billionaires love their jobs.”

“Always pretend that you’re working for yourself.”

“You should always expect the shit to hit the fan every single day. It will prepare you in every way to face every business day, and it will also keep you on your game.”

“Never stop, and never give up. If you have a concrete wall in front of you, you must go through it. Life is difficult no matter what, but hard work and perseverance make it a lot easier.”

“If you’re good at something… people will recognize you for it, and then people will come to you and promote you, not the other way around. Don’t worry about actively promoting yourself, if you deserve to be promoted, you will be.”

“Anger often indicates a lack of intelligence… pay attention to your anger.”

“Always dress for the job you want, not the job you have.”

“Billionaires never wish away the minutes. Life’s just too good to wish it away.”

“Success requires work 7 days per week.”

“For billionaires, work and pleasure are one and the same.”

“Romance should simply propel you to work harder. To me, work is as important as breathing. It’s something I do automatically. I have an inherent work ethic that will never diminish… I give to both everything I’ve got. And the effort in the long run is always worth it.”

“The best is a quest.”

“Remember that some of the richest and most successful people like… the great Sam Walton lived very simple lives. Sam drove to work in an old Chevrolet everyday - I love it!

“You have to think of service workers as your colleagues in the business of life.”

“Sometimes I feel like I’m in a constant state of catching up, but I’m not complaining. This life’s exciting.”

“Minutes and seconds count, whether you’re in the Olympics or in business.”

“If you are intent on big success :

1. Think big
2. Stay focused
3. Be paranoid
4. Be passionate
5. Don’t ever give up
6. Love what you are doing"

He's not a bad author ! Surprisingly, I actually quite enjoyed listening to his thoughts and opinions, Trump seemed to be be a very straight-forward and logical person.

The author’s reputation precedes him.

This book contains a lot of advice, business tips, life strategies. Some of it might not apply, but some of it really DOES apply. Overall, very informative and succinct. Useful book. The book is professional and helpful.
Rather ‘too’ short, but does get straight to the point in the first third of the book, and includes a section about The Apprentice that is rather hard to relate to.

Say what you will about Donald Trump,I find his books very amusing.

When I found this book,Donald Trump was not a politician.I picked it up at an airport.

I was vaguely familiar with Trump, having seen his picture in the gossip pages of magazines. He seemed an amusing figure and that name,Trump, stuck in memory.

This book claims to teach the reader "everything about success, real estate and life".

These insights,of course, would be incomplete without referring to Trump's reality TV show,The Apprentice. In that show,he seems to take particular delight in firing people.

The reader is then shown glimpses of the billionaire's wonderfully successful life.Advice is even offered on what to eat,and how good Trump's hair is.

He talks about his properties, his golf courses, his opulent penthouse and even his fondness for beautiful women which he indulged through the Miss Universe pageant.

And he pats himself on the back for pulling off all those immensely profitable real estate deals. It is a celebration of how clever he is.

The pompous tone of this book made me smile and laugh a good deal.

I didn't have an opinion one way or another about Donald Trump before picking up this book, but after reading it, I'm now an official fan. I enjoyed his matter-of-fact opinions and the authority in which he wrote. He's a man who knows who he is and what he wants and he makes it happen. I enjoy people like that. I loved how his chapters were very short and concise. He's a man who would never waste words just to fill space. I found his weekly itineries fascinating. Very impressed how he can meet with six people in about half an hour. I'm a HUGE fan of efficiency and Mr. Trump is the master.
