Donald John Trump is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who currently serves as the President of the United States in his second term.

Trump received a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, and his father named him president of his real estate business in 1971. Trump renamed it the Trump Organization and reoriented the company toward building and renovating skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. After a series of business failures in the late twentieth century, he successfully launched side ventures that required little capital, mostly by licensing the Trump name. From 2004 to 2015, he co-produced and hosted the reality television series The Apprentice. He and his businesses have been plaintiff or defendant in more than 4,000 state and federal legal actions, including six business bankruptcies.
Trump won the 2016 presidential election as the Republican Party nominee against Democratic Party nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton while losing the popular vote. During the campaign, his political positions were described as populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist. His election and policies sparked numerous protests. He was the first U.S. president with no prior military or government experience. A special counsel investigation established that Russia had interfered in the 2016 election to favor Trump's campaign. Trump promoted conspiracy theories and made many false and misleading statements during his campaigns and presidency, to a degree unprecedented in American politics. Many of his comments and actions have been characterized as racially charged or racist and many as misogynistic.
As president, Trump ordered a travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries, diverted military funding toward building a wall on the U.S.–Mexico border, and implemented a policy of family separations for migrants detained at the U.S. border. He weakened environmental protections, rolling back more than 100 environmental policies and regulations. He signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which cut taxes for individuals and businesses and rescinded the individual health insurance mandate penalty of the Affordable Care Act. He appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court. He reacted slowly to the COVID-19 pandemic, ignored or contradicted many recommendations from health officials, used political pressure to interfere with testing efforts, and spread misinformation about unproven treatments. Trump initiated a trade war with China and withdrew the U.S. from the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the Iran nuclear deal. He met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un three times but made no progress on denuclearization.
Trump refused to concede after losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, falsely claiming widespread electoral fraud, and attempted to overturn the results by pressuring government officials, mounting scores of unsuccessful legal challenges, and obstructing the presidential transition. On January 6, 2021, he urged his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, which many of them then attacked, resulting in multiple deaths and interrupting the electoral vote count.

Trump is the only American president to have been impeached twice. After he tried to pressure Ukraine in 2019 to investigate Biden, he was impeached by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020. The House impeached him again in January 2021 for incitement of insurrection. The Senate acquitted him in February. Scholars and historians rank Trump as one of the worst presidents in American history.

Despite the overwhelming political reviews , this book does have some good advice from trump himself, which, looking from a non biased perspective, is still one of the most successful businessmen in the world.

I mainly focus on the business and money advice in my review, the real estate version will come in a second reread. This book has a lot of points to cover so be warned this is a long review

Trump starts off the book by stating some of the similarities between billionaires. To not care about what the odds are and follow your vision, almost narcissistically devoting your talent with unrelenting focus on your dreams.

1. Don't take vacations
- if you're not enjoying your own work, you are in the wrong job, and usually, if you're having fun, you naturally won't stop, so there's no need for vacations
trump's family is common in a passion for a job well done

2. Have a short attention span
- you get more done faster, but it usually requires imagination to find faster ways

3. Dont sleep any more than you have to
- billionares seek dominance in their field,
- You can never outcompete people who sleep less and work the same as you. There's not enough time in a day

4. Dont depend on tech
- much of it is unecessary, only use it if it speeds up your processes
- communication through tech lacks the sincerity of face to face

5. Think yourself as a one man army
- billionaires like to win, its more important to be smart than tough
- you must plan and execute your plan alone

6. It's often to your advantage to be underestimated
- you never want people to think you're a loser but it's not good if they think you're the smartest, they keep their guard up and treat you differently that way
-boasting is often necessary, but others boasting for you or even discovering your accomplishments is far better

7. Success breeds success
- results impress people the most, even if you don't have any you have to create the impression of success but start small and build up

8. Friends are good family are better
- nothing to say here

9.treat each decision like a lover
- each decision is made at different speeds but treat it based on the needs at that time, not on a fixed system
- some of the best business decisions are made with passion (the basic impulses ensure that you're going in a direction that will drive you)

10. Be curious
- you have to be hungry to learn more past what you know

On to the section of money tips, trump gives a boatload of them.
To start,he reminds us that luck with money is not fixed, it can change so long as you work hard

Even as a billionaire, trump still "pinches pennies" or is very financially aware. He advises:
- be comfortable with bargaining
- buy quality products over branded
And most importantly, that small "measly" amounts can compound massively

When it comes to investing, one must know that the market is heavily interconnected and how each moving part works with the other.
Trump also gives advice on the ratio of bonds and stocks which simply put: is to invest more in bonds as you get older

When investing, you have to do your homework and buy companies you understand but never fall in love with the investment
Additionally, ditch companies that have measly growth in the long term because they're not worth the risk

Some basics of investing would be watching your bottom line: knowing how much risk you can take and the money you can afford to lose.
Chase impossibilities because you never want to see someone less deserving get it (reflects trump's dominant nature)

Being rich isn't a passive state, GET A MOVE ON. Time is always more valuable than money

Some useful job advice:
- you always have to love your job because you're working for yourself. The passion alone will solve 90% of the problems
- once you find something, never stop and never give up because shit will hit the fan every day
- promotion comes from naturally doing what you're good at, you do want to promote a certain image of yourself every day but if you deserve to be promoted by others you will be
- make your work pleasurable and remember that romance should spur you to work harder, not become lazy

A vital point about loyalty:
- if someone is disloyal once, they will be forever

[Think big, stay focused, keep your guard up, be passionate, don't ever give up, love what you do]

An in-depth book of all things trump with valuable knowledge all around, I rate this a 4/5 solely because of the excessive revolving of this book around "the apprentice" which makes it more like an advert than a book. Nonetheless, the section giving a glimpse into a day of his life is a good opportunity to understand what it takes to be a billionare

Found this on the floor of an airport about ten years ago and read it because I had finished my book and had 5 hours to wait. Honestly, this man is such a t**t. So much so, that ten years later I feel compelled to write a review of the book saying how terrible the book is. I would give this zero stars if I could. A particular low point was the chapter on how to be married. There was probably one actual piece of advice in the entire book which was to always hire a property surveyor before buying real estate. There, now you don't need to read it.

The first 130 pages are full of good general knowledge of business stuff. There are most certainly better books out there on real estate and investing. The last 130ish pages are pure day in the life of and have nothing to do with investing. He starts talking about beauty pageants and his time on Saturday night live (before becoming president obviously) he also spends a good portion talking about the apprentice, trump tower and mar a largo. There is no doubt the man is accomplished however there is waaaay better books.

I have not read this book, but Donald Trump's campaign has been one long lesson in the art of thinking like a billionaire, and I believe I have grasped the main points.

When you think like a billionaire, you don't pay tax. You have accountants who know how to get you out of this annoying and old-fashioned requirement. When people ask you about it, you tell them to mind their own fucking business. Nearly all the time, they do.

When you think like a billionaire, you don't pay your creditors either, unless you judge that it's in your best interests to do so. Quite often it won't be. You aren't planning on continuing the relationship, so why pay? If they sue, you have better lawyers than they do. You can carry on litigating forever. You won't even notice the inconvenience, but it'll ruin their lives.

When you think like a billionaire, you can forget those dumb ideas about treating women with respect. If you're sitting next to an foxy chick at dinner, you can just put your hand up her dress. She won't yell, slap your face or call the cops. Quite a few of them will like the attention. The ones who don't will be smart enough to keep quiet.

The very best part of thinking like a billionaire is that you don't have to feel bad for any of this. You can talk openly about it and people will admire you. You can run for president on a platform of being a real guy instead of a stuffed shirt, and they'll come flocking to your rallies. You can say whatever comes into your head and they'll cheer. If anyone disagrees, just tell your fans to rough them up a bit. They'll be happy to do you this little favor. You are what they want to be, and they love you for it.

Vote Trump!
