When death is loved and life is exiled... Then when love becomes a choice and sacrifice a compulsion... The harp plays a delicate tune that doesn't always have a happy ending.

That life is so dark that it leads you to its embrace and then wishes you to return when you realize that your souls don't feel the warmth of love or touch it in a world we are more ignorant of. Here, the existential philosophy of "Sartre" appears. It blurs the boundaries in the form of wonderful creation and dimensions... Far from the common emotional clichés, it leads you to pity them for disappointment. Your life revolves outside the book around the question: "Will they really complete their lives together or will the worldly obstacles they left behind in the world of the living oppose them?"... I can't suppress that emotional burden that is born within me because it haunts me and tells me (Tell them about us... Inform them of our affair... Narrate to them our hardships... Reveal to them our situation). But I can't deprive you of the pleasure that I started to touch until it held me and deprived me of renewing my life until it ends or decides on me. And here I have decided that my reading will not be the last for "Sartre".

It's not a story or a play... but rather a text of a scenario as close as possible to reality.

Whenever Sartre is mentioned, Simone de Beauvoir is mentioned with him... and vice versa. The quotes state that their philosophies are similar, even intertwined... which prompts me to undertake the experiment of reading Simone as long as Sartre's philosophy amazes me.

Simon DE Bovoar, jean Paul Sartre, Che Guevara. Who said that Philosophy & politics Can't be combined :D

What you know about Sartre... He received the Nobel Prize in 1964. What you don't know about Sartre... He firmly refused to accept the prize. His reason was that he didn't deserve the honor and he was still alive. Perhaps this is one of the points of his philosophy. He wanted the writer to be free from political power. It is indeed the spirit of intellectuals.

A Story of Love and Doubt

There is a story about a man and a woman who, after the death of their lovers, become each other's second chance at life. They are given the opportunity to continue living in this world if their love is true. However, each of them has another reason for their return. The woman wants to save her sister from her cheating husband, while the man wants to tell his revolutionary friends not to rebel so that they won't be killed. Just as we expect, they are unable to handle any unexpected events. Since their love is not that true, they die again and are separated in the afterlife. At the end of the story, another man and woman come across them and ask if it's true that if they are in love, they can return. They say yes, but then the young man realizes their special relationship and asks, "Are you sure nothing bad will happen to us?" From this sentence, we can understand that their love is also not completely true because they prefer the ease of death to the unpredictable events.

I looove Sartre. His stories are always filled with ideas that I would have as well. They are not only very entertaining but also highly philosophic and funny.

I especially love how he describes at the end of every story what the philosophy behind it is. In this particular one, it's on determinism! It's just so fascinating to explore these deep philosophical concepts through his engaging stories.

His works have a unique charm that keeps me coming back for more. The way he weaves together philosophy and entertainment is truly remarkable. It makes me think and question my own beliefs and perspectives.

Sartre's stories are like little windows into different philosophical worlds, and I can't get enough of them. I highly recommend his works to anyone who has an interest in philosophy or just enjoys a good, thought-provoking read.

I have been sitting here for the last 15 minutes, trying to recover from the gut-punch that is this book.

It has truly left me in a state of shock and awe. The emotions it has evoked within me are indescribable.

I feel as if I have been through a rollercoaster of feelings, from joy to sadness, from excitement to despair.

The author's writing is so powerful and engaging that I was completely immersed in the story from start to finish.

I cannot wait to share this book with others and see how it affects them.

It is definitely a must-read for anyone who loves a good book that can touch their heart and soul.

I will be thinking about this book for a long time to come.

A man and a woman were destined to fall in love, yet they died without ever meeting. In such circumstances, after death, according to article 140, they can be reborn to be together. It would be easy as long as they started from nothing, without memories of the first life.

The Nobel Prize in Literature 1964

Jean-Paul Sartre was born in France (Paris) on June 21, 1905 and died in France on April 15, 1980. The Nobel was awarded to him, however Sartre, like other distinctions, refused it: "A writer who takes political, social or literary positions must act only with the means that are his - that is, the written word. All the honors he may receive expose his readers to a pressure that I do not consider desirable. Signing Jean-Paul Sartre is not the same as signing Jean-Paul Sartre, winner of the Nobel. The writer must refuse to be turned into an institution, even if this occurs under the most honorable circumstances, as is the case."

This is a truly compelling and easy read that I simply could not put down.

The screenplay written by Sartre is remarkable. It is astonishingly simple on the surface, yet it delves into profound themes with excellent execution.

As you engage with this work, it forces you to deeply question the very nature of love. What exactly is love? Is it selfless or does it often have selfish undertones?

Furthermore, it makes you confront humanity's innate disposition to act selfishly. Are we all inherently inclined to put our own interests first, even at the expense of others?

This screenplay challenges our assumptions and makes us reflect on these fundamental aspects of our lives and relationships. It is a thought-provoking piece that leaves a lasting impression.

Jean-Paul Sartre is one of the most famous philosophers of the 20th century who has presented many books in the genres of novel, article, and play on the subject of existentialism.

The present book, titled "Work from the Past", is a novel that refers to this subject of existentialist philosophy that man is always in the process of transformation and formation throughout his life and shapes his essence. He has the power of choice, and this power gives him free choice to choose freely in life. But this free choice comes with certain conditions. That is, man must always have a choice, even not choosing is a choice in itself.

A person wants to go home. He can choose many ways to reach home. His choice is free. Even if he does not want to go home, he has still made a choice, which is not to go home.

According to Sartre, our existence is a reflection of being, and death, as "existence", cannot annihilate his being, and it is this being that always remains. As long as a person is alive, he can choose freely. But when death approaches him, what should have been done has been done, and there is no longer a choice in the matter, and that moment is when the work is from the past.

Can we continue again?

No, the work is from the past..... It has become difficult, and no one can start anew.

**"The Die is Cast": A Review**

The back cover text of this novel begins with the thought-provoking question: "Is it really possible to start all over again? Or is the die already cast and our life's destiny determined by our deeds and our circumstances?" This sets the stage for what is to come.

Jean-Paul Sartre, considered the father of French existentialism, is the author of this work. He emphasized the uniqueness of the individual, believing that there is no God and that man is "condemned to be free" and must give meaning to his own existence. Sartre also wrote novels and plays, and in 1964, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for his autobiographical work "The Words," which he refused to accept in order to maintain his freedom.

The original title of the book, "Les jeux sont faits," is a French expression used in casinos when no more bets can be placed. Everything is fixed and nothing can be changed, which is the starting point of the story. The plot involves Eva and Pierre, who are murdered at the same moment. In the afterlife, they meet and discover that they were meant for each other. They are given the chance to return to the world of the living and, if their love can withstand 24 hours and overcome all obstacles, they can spend the rest of their lives together on earth.

The story was first published in 1947 and was also made into a film the same year. However, despite having all the ingredients for a good story, such as an interesting premise, a cinematic structure, murder, intrigues, and characters from different backgrounds, Sartre fails to convince. The book violates the "Show don't tell" principle, with all emotions being literally named, and the characters' mental states changing from one extreme to another within seconds, making the emotions seem false and it difficult to empathize with the cardboard figures. There are also several content contradictions, such as the dead main characters being unable to touch each other on one page and then being able to on the next, and Pierre being shot but not showing any signs of injury.

Despite these flaws, the book does have some redeeming qualities. The cinematic aspect is evident in the constant switching of perspectives between Pierre and Eva, which is clearly shown in the titles of the sections that mention the location of the scene. This structure makes the book easy to read and gives it a vivid character.

In conclusion, although the book contains many elements that could have elevated the story to a higher level, Sartre has missed a golden opportunity. From someone who was worthy of the Nobel Prize for Literature, we could have expected a higher writing level. Therefore, don't have high expectations for "The Die is Cast."

Sartre, in fact, has summarized the lives directed by elections, or rather that well-known "existence precedes essence" claim with this drama-novel book. The fiction he created based on the relationship between men and women is actually nothing but the ordinary flow of everyone's life. He presents the order in the world so simply that it is impossible not to admire.

This work by Sartre offers a unique perspective on the human condition. It delves into the complex dynamics of relationships and how they shape our existence. By using the medium of a drama-novel, he is able to bring these ideas to life in a vivid and engaging way.

The concept of "existence precedes essence" is central to Sartre's philosophy. It suggests that we are not born with a pre-determined essence or purpose, but rather we create our own meaning and identity through our actions and choices. This is a powerful and liberating idea that challenges us to take responsibility for our lives and make conscious decisions.

Overall, Sartre's work is a thought-provoking exploration of the human experience. It encourages us to question the status quo and to look at our lives from a new perspective. Whether we agree with his ideas or not, there is no denying the impact that his work has had on philosophy and literature.

I was a bit disappointed in this novel.

It is a rather naive story through which Sartre apparently wants to illustrate his idea that every person is free and thus personally responsible for the choices he or she makes in life. In my opinion, this is not entirely correct because every person is different and is not born in the same circumstances and environment. That also, involuntarily, influences the course of your life.

But it is not because of Sartre's philosophy that I didn't like the book very much but rather because of the somewhat simple and unbelievable story. I read that this book was actually written as a script for a film or play and that perhaps explains the form and content of the story.

Overall, while the philosophical concept behind the book is interesting, the execution in the form of this particular story left something to be desired. It failed to fully engage me and make me believe in the events and characters. Maybe if it had been presented in a different format or with a more developed plot, it would have been more successful.

Eve and Pierre meet again after both being pronounced dead. It turns out that Eve's husband poisoned her, and Pierre was murdered as part of a plot to bring down his regency. Now that there is nothing left to do (since death isn't all that enjoyable), they end up falling in love with each other and discover that they are soulmates. To right the wrongs, the department of the dead permits them to return to earth to be together. However, unfortunately, their priorities remain focused on rectifying their past rather than living in the present.

Why is it so difficult to let go of the past? Isn't that the whole point of death? To move on. Or were these two simply fated to die no matter what? It seems that even in the afterlife, the weight of the past continues to burden them. They are given a second chance at life and love, yet they are so consumed with what has happened before that they may be missing out on the beauty and possibilities of the present moment. Will they ever be able to truly let go and embrace the new beginning that has been granted to them? Only time will tell.
