Dangit, Monsieur!

What a terrible ending this is! It is truly typical of French literature, which often seems to delight in leaving readers with a sense of unease or disappointment.

In this particular work, the conclusion feels abrupt and unsatisfying. The characters' fates are left hanging, and there is no clear resolution to the story's conflicts.

Perhaps this is the author's intention, to force the reader to grapple with the ambiguity and complexity of life. Or maybe it is simply a case of poor writing.

Either way, it is frustrating for the reader who has invested time and emotion into the story, only to be left with a sense of dissatisfaction.

Overall, while the rest of the work may have had its merits, the ending unfortunately detracts from the overall experience.

Heerlijk.

This simple word holds a world of meaning. It can describe a feeling of great pleasure, joy, or delight.

When we experience something heerlijk, it's as if all our senses come alive. It could be the taste of a delicious meal, the warmth of the sun on our skin, or the sound of beautiful music.

Heerlijk moments make life worth living. They give us a break from the routine and stress of daily life and allow us to simply enjoy the present.

Whether it's a small moment of heerlijkheid, like a cup of coffee in the morning, or a big event, like a vacation with loved ones, these experiences stay with us and bring a smile to our faces long after they're over.

So, the next time you encounter something heerlijk, take a moment to savor it and let the feeling of joy wash over you.

Beetle Juice is a really interesting topic. The movie came to life in my eyes in some parts. The book is also written like a movie script, making it quite easy to read. There is an existential question that is inevitable as Sartre. The topic was interesting and thought-provoking, a life query about what you would do if you had another chance. Eve and Pierre, both characters, are vivid and you like them. I thought it was a good plot, language, and foundation.

In existential philosophy, Heidegger and Sartre stand out. Existence is seen as something defined according to "man who defines himself". The person who asks the question of existence is called existence or being. According to Sartre, existence is actually subjective existence, and first of all, man is existence. Of course, there are things other than man, but they are unaware of their existence. In other words, there are things but they do not have an existence. It is man who has existence and he brings his being into existence with his consciousness. Therefore, man is the being condemned to freedom. What makes this possible is consciousness according to Sartre.

In Sartre's fundamental work, Being and Nothingness, he divides being into two main regions: being-in-itself and being-for-itself. In the novel, when Pierre and Eve return to the world, they cannot achieve being-for-itself and cannot complete their mission.

Moreover, man does not only make choices for himself. When making a choice for himself, he also makes a choice for others. When he creates values for himself, he must also consider others; he tries to ensure that the values he chooses are also the values of others. Again, in the story, their changing the life of the little girl can be shown as an example here.

Les Jeux Sont Faits = The Chips Are Down, Jean-Paul Sartre

The Chips Are Down is a screenplay penned by Jean-Paul Sartre in 1943 and made public in 1947. It presents a complex and engaging story.

Ève and Pierre have led separate lives and have never crossed paths before. At the start of the book, Ève is seriously ill, unaware that her husband André is poisoning her with the intention of marrying her sister Lucette and keeping the dowry. This sets the stage for a web of deceit and drama.

The story then takes an interesting turn as Ève and Pierre both die and find themselves in the afterlife. There, they meet and become acquainted. They discover a mutual attraction and both lament the fact that they didn't meet before they passed away. They are given the opportunity to return to the world for twenty-four hours. If they can be happy together during this time and be certain that they still love each other by the end of the day, they will be granted a new lease on life.

The book "Work Passed from Work" by Jean-Paul Sartre is set in the romantic backdrop of the city of Paris and France during World War II. Like his other works, Sartre attempts to convey profound philosophical concepts to the reader in this play.

The description of the characters and the setting adds depth and vividness to the story. For example, the young girl standing in the reception room, looking out of the window at the street, hearing the sound of soldiers' footsteps approaching. André Charlier enters the room, his face tense and betraying his inner turmoil. The interaction between the two characters further develops the plot and reveals their emotions and motives.

Overall, The Chips Are Down is a thought-provoking and captivating work that explores themes such as love, betrayal, and the meaning of life.

The movie is moderately written, with a predictable plot that offers little food for thought.

It's all a great pity!

The story seems to follow a rather beaten path, lacking in originality and innovation. The characters are not developed deeply enough, making it difficult for the audience to truly engage with them.

The pacing is also a bit off, with some scenes dragging on while others feel rushed.

Overall, it fails to leave a lasting impression and falls short of expectations.

One can't help but wonder what could have been done differently to make this a more engaging and thought-provoking piece of work.

Perhaps a more creative approach to the story, or a more in-depth exploration of the characters' motives and emotions, could have made all the difference.

As it stands, however, it's a forgettable experience that fails to live up to its potential.

So kann es gehen: What was actually only meant as a buffer wouldn't let me go, so that I read it in one go. "Das Spiel ist aus" is a mixture of narrative and play with directorial instructions. It is very lightly written and quick to read. Unfortunately, the depth is only superficially recognizable, which is also the reason why I only give the book 3 stars.

The theme is old, but it still makes those who come into contact with it immediately start thinking. Therefore, the theme is always relevant and timeless: What would one do if one could live one's life again as a deceased person?

What would one do with this new chance, what would one do differently, what would one change or what would one do better?

Eve and Pierre get this chance. Not only do they realize that they were meant for each other in real life and only met in the afterlife due to a kind of error in the system, but both also have a great advantage: They are allowed to experience in the afterlife what it means to live in unconditional love without constraints, without external importance.

All this knowledge is available to them in their second attempt at life in the real world. However, once they arrive on earth, all the constraints, concerns, and egotistical details, reservations, etc. are back, making it complicated and difficult. How the two recognize and master this, I do not want to describe here, as it would be a spoiler.

Why, despite this great theme and also the very transparent, accessible, and vivid language that makes one perceive the book more like a theater production - which by the way immediately inspired me to present this work to our city theater so that they might include it in one of the upcoming schedules - I only gave 3 stars, is solely because the backgrounds, human doubts, thought processes, emotions, and inner states always remained at a descriptive surface level.

How deeply could one have questioned individual aspects?

How well could the author have analyzed the individual perspectives and motives from which the human weakness and the seemingly insurmountable torn state would have emerged in the characters?

How clearly could Sartre, in my opinion, have represented the human condition and the helplessness of "not being able to jump over one's own shadow" or the inability to get out of one's own skin?

I really missed this depth. Instead, he let the opportunities that presented themselves remain unused on the surface. It's a pity because the story as such and the theme as a whole could have made this possible.

**Jean-Paul Sartre: The Philosophy of Choice**

Jean-Paul Sartre is a renowned philosopher. His wife, who has an eye on his property and his sister, poisons him, and "Pierre" is killed by a gunshot from an 18-year-old youth who was expelled from the group by him due to betrayal. Sartre is helpless and believes that meaning can only be found in the essence of the individual's choice. That is, the meaning of life begins and ends with the meaning of the individual, whose nature is defined by his free choices. Sartre and his fellow existentialists claim that what defines our humanity is our ability as free beings to make choices freely. As long as a person is alive, he always uses this choice, and the concept of life is this very choice. Even if you refrain from choosing, you are still using your choice and choosing not to choose. And the virtue of man is precisely that because he has the choice of choice, he is responsible for his actions. In other words, man is free and, of course, responsible. In their view, most importantly, moral values are brought into the world through our actions and choices, and the world itself is completely valueless and meaningless. That is, there is no God, and apart from our choices, human destiny does not exist. That is, there is no transcendent human destiny. Therefore, there is no such thing as "right" or "wrong" in essence, only choice exists. With this existence, according to Sartre, a person can make bad choices. And usually when he makes a bad choice and acts with "bad intention", what results from the action based on "bad intention" is itself a trap. Sartre, with his claim that there is no "right" or "wrong" in action and only our choice is important, has presented one of the most extreme moral philosophies in the history of philosophy.

“See, if, as a result of an error solely attributable to the management, a man and a woman, destined for each other, have not met in life, they may request and obtain authorization to return to earth under certain conditions in order to be able to love each other and live the common life from which they were unjustly deprived.”

Pierre and Eve are the two characters in this novel. They lead completely different lives. They never met, never passed by each other. And, on the same day, they are both assassinated. However, something in the cosmic webs that intertwine this universe made it so that these two characters were destined for each other. They didn't meet in life, but they met after this. And, in death, they realize that they have the opportunity to return to life, due to the error of the fates. But this resurrection has its limitations. Pierre and Eve have 24 hours to love each other, to completely trust each other. Otherwise, they return to death.

I really liked this novel! It is a narrative in which destiny is stronger than free will, stronger than love. No matter how much we may rebel against what has befallen us in the given circumstances, it will be of no use, for destiny follows its course.

This story takes us on a journey through the lives and deaths of two individuals who are brought together by an unexpected twist of fate. The idea of having only 24 hours to experience love and trust in its fullest form adds a sense of urgency and drama to the plot. It makes us question the power of destiny and the choices we make in life. Overall, it is a captivating and thought-provoking read.

**"Can We Truly Try to Live Life a Second Time?"**

This is one of the most beautiful philosophical novels I have read. It was also my very first encounter with Sartre. It explores philosophy in life, in love, and in death as well.

The concept of death presented in it is truly terrifying. The idea that the end is just the departure of the soul and a signature in a register, and then eternity follows in such a scary way. That after death, a person is unable to move freely, enter or exit any door, touch a person or thing, or even touch other corpses. This is imprisonment, and life is nothing but pleasure and freedom in comparison.

"Will they be preoccupied with their quarrels at the expense of their love, and will the game be over?" Those who don't care about spoilers will know these details themselves and whether the game will be over or not.

I imagine that opportunity to live again after death. I don't know if the surprise will also be lost in the face of the monotony of life. Life is its greatest monotony with its difficulties. A person cannot always live according to his desires and dreams, which are quickly shattered when facing the storms and many pitfalls of life. These often kill all that is beautiful in us. And often we surrender to them and stop fighting just to be able to breathe and continue in reality. And sometimes we even give up on love, hopes, and even life itself and let ourselves be dragged by monotony as it pleases.

I hope this is not my last reading of it, as it was my first and it was truly enjoyable.

I read the '69th print' from Varlık Yayınları, and in one word, it's perfect. In my opinion, the average score of 3.99 for this book is even low. It means that some people are unfair, and Sartre has already explained this exactly. If there is someone who has read a better one, then let them come.

This book truly stands out with its profound content and excellent writing style. It takes the reader on a journey through various ideas and emotions, leaving a lasting impression.

I can't help but wonder why some people rate it lower. Maybe they didn't fully understand the essence of the book or had different expectations.

However, for those who appreciate good literature, this book is a gem. It challenges our thinking and makes us reflect on different aspects of life.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a thought-provoking and engaging read. You won't be disappointed.

Whether you are a fan of literature or simply looking for an enjoyable read, this book is sure to satisfy. It has the ability to transport you to another world and keep you entertained from start to finish. So, don't hesitate to pick up this book and embark on a wonderful literary journey.

I actually wanted to read something about existentialism and not determinism.

However, the plot was so beautifully simple in a certain way.

The character of Evè Charlier really fascinated me.

Existentialism explores the individual's experience and choices in a seemingly meaningless world. It focuses on concepts like freedom, responsibility, and authenticity.

Determinism, on the other hand, suggests that all events are determined by previous causes and there is little room for free will.

The story I was reading, perhaps without explicitly being about existentialism, managed to capture some of its essence through the simplicity of its plot and the captivating nature of the character.

Evè Charlier's actions and decisions might have been influenced by her own sense of freedom and responsibility, making her a truly interesting and engaging character.

Overall, it was a pleasant surprise to find such a captivating story when I was initially looking for something related to a different philosophical concept.
