I have an intense love for short stories. Every time there is an opportunity for me to read one, I usually seize it without hesitation. It seems rather strange to me that there are individuals in this world who assess the quality of a book solely based on its length. These two aspects are completely incompatible. I have come across remarkable stories that are of considerable length just as frequently as I have encountered amazing short stories. There are various categories by which the lengths are designated. However, I can never quite keep track of which one means what. There are novels, novellas, flash fiction, and novelettes. To me, a story is simply a story, and whether it is good or bad depends entirely on how it is narrated. After having read only Stephen King for the past few months, it was quite jarring to switch to other writers in the middle of a book. It wasn't bad, but the difference in style required a moment to adjust to. This experience got me pondering about what I should read next year, after I have completed all of Stephen King's books. Of course, except for those which my bank account cannot afford. George R.R. Martin's story was good, but my husband is upset that he never finished the G.O.T. series, and I am rather cautious about starting a series that isn't yet completed. It keeps me awake at night imagining various endings.
My fingers are all bound up.
No more typing for now. XD
Thank you for the stories.
p.s. Whoever is reading this, what should I read next year?

A collection by King-Simmons-Martin can never be bad; especially when the stories are as rare as these. Stephen's short novel is DEMENCIAL.

King-Simmons-Martin is a renowned trio in the literary world, and their anthologies are always highly anticipated. The works they bring together are not only diverse but also of great quality. In this particular collection, the stories stand out for their uniqueness and rarity. They offer a fresh perspective and take the readers on a journey that is both exciting and thought-provoking.

Stephen's short novel, in particular, is a masterpiece. It is DEMENCIAL in the sense that it challenges the readers' perception and pushes the boundaries of what is considered normal. The story is filled with twists and turns that keep the readers on the edge of their seats. It is a must-read for anyone who loves literature and wants to experience something truly different.

I read this book when I was in school over 20 years ago.

To this day, I STILL remember it vividly.

The Skin Trade truly stands out as one of the finest werewolf stories in existence.

I have a deep longing that the author would have crafted a series based on that remarkable concept.

The other stories within the collection are equally fantastically written.

It is an incredible anthology that is well worth the read if you manage to track down a good copy.

Each story in it has the power to transport you to a different world, filled with mystery, excitement, and supernatural elements.

The author's vivid descriptions and engaging storytelling make it impossible to put the book down.

Whether you are a fan of werewolf tales or simply enjoy a good collection of short stories, this anthology is sure to satisfy your literary cravings.

It is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered and cherished by more readers.

Okay, full disclosure time.

I have embarked on a journey to read all of Stephen King's novels and short stories. However, in this particular instance, I only read "The Reploids". The reason being that the other two stories are part of other published short story collections that I have already perused previously.

I have to say that I really liked "The Reploids". It has a certain charm that is both weird and unsettling. What I find fascinating about this story is that it provides just enough information to make you aware that something is seriously amiss. It leaves you in a state of wonder, constantly asking yourself what the hell actually went on.

This ambiguity is what makes Stephen King's works so captivating. He has a unique ability to draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat, even when the story seems to be over. "The Reploids" is a prime example of this, and I look forward to reading more of his works in the future.

Can two stories enhance the appreciation of the whole book? Of course! I would buy it just to read "Metastasis" by Dan Simmons and "Changing Skin" by George RR Martin.

"Metastasis" is a captivating story that likely takes readers on a thrilling journey. Simmons is known for his ability to create complex and engaging worlds, and this story is no exception.

"Changing Skin" is an intense werewolf story with very good characters and a plot that one would wish was more extensive. Martin has a talent for developing rich and multi-dimensional characters, and this story is sure to be a hit with fans of the genre.

Together, these two stories have the potential to make the whole book a must-read. Whether you're a fan of science fiction or fantasy, or just looking for a great read, this book is definitely worth checking out.

I initially checked out this particular book with great anticipation. The reason being that it boasted of unpublished stories by none other than my all-time favorite writer, Stephen King. My original plan was quite simple. I intended to just read those stories that King had contributed and then promptly return the book to the library. At that time, I had never even heard of Dan Simmons. And as for George R.R. Martin, I was only familiar with him from his renowned “Game of Thrones” epic series, which, to be honest, I had not yet read. However, much to my surprise, the latter two authors ended up becoming the true stars of this collection! King’s stories, unfortunately, were rather lackluster. On the other hand, Simmons’ stories were surprisingly lively and engaging. And Martin’s werewolf story was not only fascinating but also downright scary. In the end, I’m truly glad that I decided to stick with the book and give all the stories a chance.

It goes to show that sometimes, you might discover something completely unexpected and wonderful when you step out of your comfort zone and explore new things. This book has definitely opened my eyes to the talents of Dan Simmons and George R.R. Martin, and I look forward to reading more of their works in the future.
