Predictably, Margolin writes about a lawyer who finds himself in a legal and moral dilemma that seems impossible to escape.

The story unfolds with the lawyer, David Nash, facing a situation that tests his integrity and professional ethics.

I felt that in this one, the main character, David Nash, wasn’t as sympathetic as in some of his other books.

Perhaps it was due to the complexity of his actions and decisions, which made it difficult to fully empathize with him.

Nevertheless, the plot twists were engaging enough to keep my attention and to keep reading.

The unexpected turns and revelations added an element of excitement and mystery to the story, making it a page-turner.

Despite my initial reservations about the main character, I found myself invested in the outcome of his dilemma and eager to see how it would all be resolved.

Overall, while this may not be my favorite Margolin novel, it still had its strengths and managed to hold my interest until the very end.

The previous works of Margolin had excited me, but unfortunately, this one was rather mediocre.

Margolin has shown great promise in the past with his unique perspectives and engaging storylines. However, this particular piece fails to live up to the expectations set by his earlier works.

The plot seems to lack depth and originality, and the characters are not as well-developed as they could be. There are moments when the writing feels rushed, and important details are glossed over.

Despite these shortcomings, there are still some redeeming qualities. The overall concept has potential, and there are a few scenes that manage to capture the reader's attention.

Nevertheless, it is clear that Margolin has room for improvement in this work. I hope that he will take the time to refine his ideas and develop his characters more fully in future projects.

The story had an abundance of twists and turns that truly kept me on the edge of my seat, completely intrigued from start to finish.

Every time I thought I had figured out what was going to happen next, there would be a sudden and unexpected turn that would completely change my perspective.

The author did an excellent job of creating a realistic and immersive world of crime fiction.

The characters were well-developed and complex, and the plot was filled with enough suspense and drama to keep any reader engaged.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has a passion for reading realistic crime fiction.

It's the kind of book that you won't be able to put down until you've reached the very end.

So, if you're looking for a thrilling and engaging read, look no further than this amazing piece of literature.

This book was on the chronicles list of best ever thrillers.

However, it is truly inexplicable. When you start reading it, it feels as if it was written by a second grader. The plot is simple and unengaging, and the writing style lacks any finesse or complexity.

The only reason I managed to finish it was because I was too lazy to get up off the beach. I just wanted to have something to do while lounging in the sun.

To be honest, this book is far from being good. In fact, it is so bad that I would say it is fit FOR ME TO POOP ON. It has no redeeming qualities and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I am truly disappointed that it was included on the list of best thrillers. It makes me question the credibility of the list and the taste of those who compiled it.

Overall, this book is a waste of time and paper. I hope that in the future, more care is taken when selecting books for such lists to ensure that only high-quality works are included.

**Original Article**: This is a simple article. It has a few sentences. It is about nothing in particular.

**Expanded Article**:
This is a rather simple article.

It consists of just a few sentences that seem to lack a specific focus.

There is no particular subject matter that it delves into deeply.

It appears to be a random collection of thoughts or words put together without a clear purpose.

Perhaps it was written in a moment of inspiration or maybe just as a practice exercise.

However, despite its simplicity and lack of a defined topic, it still has the potential to spark some form of interest or thought in the reader.

Maybe it could serve as a starting point for a more in-depth exploration of a particular idea or concept.

In any case, it is a reminder that even the simplest of things can have value and meaning in their own unique way.

This book is rather average. There is nothing extremely bad or outstandingly good about it. It was just fine.

Margolin has written better works in the past, and also some that were worse. This particular book seems to fall somewhere in the middle of his oeuvre.

Perhaps it lacks the spark and innovation that some of his other books possess. However, it is still a readable and engaging enough story.

The characters are somewhat developed, but not to the extent that they really come alive on the page.

The plot is interesting, but not overly complex or thrilling. Overall, it's a decent read, but not one that will leave a lasting impression.

**The Last Innocent Man: A Review**

Phillip Margolin's "The Last Innocent Man" takes readers on a journey through the legal world and the moral dilemmas faced by its characters.

I have been a fan of Margolin since reading some of his early works, and "Gone But Not Forgotten" truly solidified my admiration. However, his more recent works have been criticized for not reaching the same level of excellence as his early novels.

After reading "The Third Victim" and feeling it lacked the depth of his earlier books, I decided to go back and read his first two novels, "Heartstone" and "The Last Innocent Man".

In "The Last Innocent Man", Margolin creates unsympathetic characters, starting with veteran vice detective Bert Ortiz, whose reflections are chauvinistic and disrespectful. The protagonist, David Nash, is a successful defense attorney who has defended many guilty clients but starts to have qualms about his actions.

Nash meets a mystery woman, Valerie, and has a passionate encounter with her. Later, he is asked to defend Larry Stafford, who is charged with murdering an undercover vice cop. Nash discovers that Stafford's wife is Valerie, and despite the ethical dilemma, he takes the case.

Nash initially believes in Stafford's innocence but later realizes that Valerie has lied about his alibi. The case takes a turn when the DA puts a known criminal on the stand, and Nash essentially throws the case away.

Stafford is convicted, and Nash walks away from Valerie and his former life. He becomes a pathetic caricature of his former self, drowning his sorrows in booze and losing all sense of purpose.

The courtroom drama in the book is superb, but the plot twists lack surprise. Overall, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth due to the unsympathetic characters and the moral decline of the protagonist.

If "The Last Innocent Man" had been the first Margolin novel I had read, I probably would not have read another. However, having read some of his other works, I know that he is capable of writing great novels.

Now, a particularly unique case has landed on "the Ice Man's" desk. This case has the potential to be a game-changer for Nash, offering him a glimmer of hope to cleanse himself of the guilt and doubts that have been relentlessly tormenting him. The defendant in this case is that rarest of breeds - an innocent man.

In this world, lies and the truth are so intertwined that they seem interchangeable. The roles of the manipulator and the manipulated become blurred, and every answer that Nash uncovers only spawns more complex and terrifying questions.
