I chose to read this particular book mainly because it was a mystery. Mysterious stories always have a certain allure that makes me eager to explore.

But to my surprise, this book didn't just stop at being a simple mystery. It also had profound ethical implications that really caught my attention and made me think deeply.

As is often the case with good books, the story in this one reached a very satisfying conclusion. The way the plot developed, with its numerous twists and turns, was completely unexpected. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire reading process, constantly guessing and trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

In the end, I not only enjoyed the thrilling mystery but also gained some valuable insights into ethical issues from reading this book. It was truly a remarkable reading experience.

An improbable story development took place, leaving everyone in shock.

A persona who was once strong, decisive, intent, ambitious, and well groomed suddenly underwent a reversal. They transformed into a whimpering, slovenly, overweight shell of a person.

A pivotal coincidence added to the mystery. The person was seen with blond hair, wearing a flowery shirt, tan slacks, and driving a beige Mercedes. Their athletic build was now a thing of the past.

Adding to the complexity, the defense made an unexplained but important finding. This finding was the key to their argument. It was a photo reconstitution that seemed to hold the answers to many questions.

As the story unfolded, the improbable became reality, and the readers were left on the edge of their seats, eager to discover what would happen next.

Read 1/30 - 2/1/19

This period from January 30th to February 1st, 2019, was filled with various activities and events.

On January 30th, people might have been going about their daily routines, perhaps waking up early to start their work or studies. Some might have been preparing for upcoming meetings or exams.

The next day, January 31st, could have seen more of the same, with a continuation of work and life's responsibilities. However, there could also have been some special moments or interactions that made the day unique.

Finally, on February 1st, 2019, the start of a new month brought with it a sense of fresh beginnings. People might have set new goals or resolutions for themselves, looking forward to what the month had in store.

Overall, the days from 1/30 - 2/1/19 were a mix of the ordinary and the extraordinary, each moment contributing to the tapestry of our lives.

This is my second book by Philip Margolin. His works always revolve around crimes allegedly committed by high-profile personalities.

In "After dark", it was a prosecutor accused of murder. Here, it is an attorney from a commercial law firm who is accused of murder. The ethical dilemmas are always glaringly obvious.

Here, the defence counsel representing Larry Stafford has an inappropriate relationship with his client's wife. At one point, there is a suggestion from her to deliberately lose the trial so that her husband can go to jail and she can have a chance to be with the defence attorney.

Perjury is also another issue. His (Philip Margolin's) books are very well-suited for use in schools to explain to students the dos and don'ts when it comes to the practice of law. However, the world is changing very rapidly, and ethical rules are evolving as fast as our generations. It is a very interesting book that makes one think about the complex nature of the legal profession and the ethical challenges that lawyers face.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in legal thrillers or those who want to gain a better understanding of the legal system and the ethical issues that surround it.

This sentence is rather interesting and full of humor. It seems that the person didn't actually pay for the book but got it from a Little Free Library, and yet they think it's worth every penny.

Perhaps this book holds some special value for them, maybe it's a rare find or a title they've been longing to read. The concept of a Little Free Library is such a wonderful one, allowing people to share and exchange books freely.

It's amazing how something that is essentially free can bring so much joy and satisfaction. In this case, the person's excitement about getting the book is palpable, and it makes one wonder what kind of adventures and knowledge await them within its pages.

Overall, this simple sentence tells a story of discovery and appreciation, highlighting the value that can be found in the most unexpected places.

Everyone accused of a crime is guaranteed a legal defense.

The question here is when does attorney/client privilege cross the line of an objective legal defense? This is a thought-provoking issue that the story delves into.

I absolutely loved the plot. It was full of suspense and twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. Some of the characters were a bit questionable, which added an extra layer of complexity to the story.

This book was such a page turner for me that I could not put it down. In fact, I liked this book better than "Gone But Not Forgotten".

I have four more of Phillip Margolin's books to read, and I truly hope they live up to this one. The way he weaves a story and creates a sense of mystery is truly impressive.

Phillip Margolin has definitely moved up on my list of favorite authors. Working in an attorney's office, although not in criminal defense, I find the inner workings of the legal profession fascinating. This book gave me a new perspective on the legal world and the ethical dilemmas that attorneys face.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good legal thriller. It's a must-read for fans of the genre.

Run away....

This simple phrase holds a world of meaning and possibilities. It can evoke a sense of escape, of leaving behind the familiar and venturing into the unknown.

But running away isn't always easy. It takes courage and determination to step out of our comfort zones and face the challenges that lie ahead.

Sometimes, running away can lead to new beginnings, to finding ourselves and our true purpose. It can be a journey of self-discovery and growth.

So, the next time you feel the urge to run away, don't be afraid. Embrace the adventure and see where it takes you.

This story reads like an 80's made-for-tv movie.

So, it came as no great surprise to me when I discovered that it was published in 1988.

The novel, unfortunately, has not aged well.

It feels a bit cliche and outdated.

The plot and characters seem to follow the same tired formulas that were popular in the 80's.

There is nothing really new or exciting about it.

It's as if the author was trying too hard to fit into the mold of what was considered "entertaining" at that time.

While it may have been enjoyable for some readers back in 1988, it fails to hold up today.

It lacks the depth and complexity that modern readers expect.

In conclusion, this novel is a prime example of how some works of literature can quickly become dated and lose their appeal over time.

On a trip, a review to follow.

I firmly believe that this was the 1981 debut work of the author. It was an easy and enjoyable legal suspense novel that I neatly packed in my purse for an across the Atlantic plane trip and subsequent travel. I remained engaged for the vast majority of the novel.

The highly sought-after criminal defense attorney, David Nash, begins to question his job of defending mostly guilty clients when he undertakes his latest case. He has been hired to defend an attorney who has been charged with the murder of an undercover policewoman. Nash crosses ethical lines as he progresses with the case. Is this truly an innocent man or just another guilty party hoping to deceive the jury with the assistance of a great high-profile lawyer?

Some of the characters are more fully developed than others, and there is one character who is rather despicable and plays a significant role in David Nash's reevaluation of his life. I did have one major eye-rolling experience with an early sexual encounter in the story that becomes an important element of the novel. Maybe I'm just a cynic.

Overall, despite a few flaws, the novel managed to keep me entertained throughout my journey. It had its moments of excitement and intrigue, and I look forward to exploring more of the author's works in the future.

OMG! He's done it again.

At first, I was dozing off a bit. This was only because I hadn't read in a long time and I'm usually tired. But then, as I got closer to the middle of the book and delved deeper into the story, I became wide awake and was able to focus. He draws you in like no other author can!

I love how this author creates such a vivid picture that it's as if you're watching a movie while you read. He is my favorite author of all time. I thought I had read this book before, only because there's a part that's slightly similar to another of his books. However, I remember which book I actually read, and it was the first time ever reading this one.

So far, this author and one other have been the only ones to catch my attention and compel me to read the entire book from start to finish because it's so entertaining. Legal thrillers have to be one of my favorite genres!
