The play I just finished reading is very different from any other play I've ever come across.

Not only did I find it quite enjoyable, but there were also numerous lines that really appealed to me.

If you haven't guessed it yet, The Visitor is Elvis, just so you all are aware.

Interestingly, Einstein and Picasso lived during some of the same years, and this play is set in 1904, which is a helpful piece of information if you're reading it.

Overall, I truly loved this play. Although it doesn't always make perfect sense, it's still well worth a read.

It offers a unique and engaging experience that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Even with its occasional moments of confusion, it manages to leave a lasting impression.

I would highly recommend this play to anyone looking for something different and exciting in the world of literature.

Give it a try and see for yourself what makes it so special.

: I want to leave the world littered with beauty.

Full disclosure, I came across this play a few months ago when Bryan Dechart quoted it during one of his Detroit: Become Human streams. His words had such an impact that they made everyone, including himself, tear up.

After reading it, I'm truly glad I did. The play was not only fun but also incredibly insightful. The foreshadowing was masterfully done, adding an extra layer of depth and anticipation to the story.

I can't help but imagine how amazing it would be to see this play performed on stage. The emotions, the characters, and the story would come to life in a whole new way. It would be a visual and auditory盛宴 that I would not want to miss.

Overall, this play has left a lasting impression on me, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys thought-provoking and engaging literature.

This book was, in fact, extremely funny.

I have a rather poor sense of humor when it comes to deriving laughter from a book. However, I can assert that there were several hilarious lines within the play.

The concept of Einstein and Picasso spending the night at a bar and engaging in a discussion about how they were going to revolutionize the century was entertaining in itself.

But unlike other plays that convey a profound overall message, I didn't truly obtain one from this particular play.

Nonetheless, I still adored reading it. This makes me wonder if, at times, one doesn't necessarily require a message in a book to render it meaningful.

Simply the fact that it was funny was sufficient for me to develop a liking for it.

Perhaps sometimes, the power of humor alone can bring joy and make a literary work worthwhile.

It shows that there are different ways for a book to touch our hearts and minds, and not all of them have to be through a deep and profound message.

This play serves as a reminder that sometimes, a good laugh is all we need to have a great reading experience.

I only read “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” and I don't know anything about the other plays, lol. However, I can't wait to perform in this show as Sagot the art dealer in a few months! This is such a beautiful script. To be honest, it's actually less laugh-out-loud funny than I expected from Steve Martin. The humor in it is more witty and sharp, which really appeals to me. It makes me think and appreciate the cleverness of the writing. Moreover, there are some very profound and beautifully written lines about the creative process and the nature of inspiration. These lines add depth and meaning to the play, making it not just a simple comedy but also a thought-provoking piece of art. I'm really looking forward to bringing Sagot to life on the stage and sharing this wonderful play with the audience.

Steve Martin, the renowned and beloved figure, has proven himself to be an unexpectedly talented playwright.

This play takes us on a fascinating journey with a chance encounter between the great Picasso and Albert Einstein (alongside a character named Schmendiman) before they achieved their remarkable feats.

It skillfully combines light-hearted, accessible humor that anyone can enjoy with profound and perceptive commentary on both these extraordinary men and society as a whole.

The result is a wonderful blend that offers not only entertainment but also food for thought. It's truly a lot of fun to experience.

However, it should be noted that the remaining three "plays" in the collection are more like sketches rather than fully developed plays.

While "WASP" does have some amusing dialogue, overall, none of these three rate higher than 2 or 3 stars.

Nevertheless, the book is still worth getting for the main feature, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile", which alone makes it a worthwhile addition to any collection.

I vividly remember seeing Picasso at the Lapin Agile at CanStage many years ago. It was an absolute delight! The performance was truly excellent, captivating every moment. The play itself was not only good but also extremely funny, leaving the audience in stitches. However, when it comes to the other plays in this short volume, they take on a more downcast tone. They delve into the failures in relationships, exploring the complex and often painful emotions that come with them. It's a contrast to the lightheartedness of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, but equally engaging in its own way. These plays offer a deeper look into the human experience and the challenges we face in our personal connections.

I am gradually making my way through this book.

Steve Martin writes in a manner that is quite distinct from what I had envisioned.

Given his exuberant personality, I had expected his writing to mirror that, yet it is actually very eloquent and understated.

It has a lyrical quality to it, but for some reason, it has not managed to draw me in completely.

Perhaps it is because I was anticipating a more flamboyant style, or maybe I need to read further to truly appreciate the depth of his writing.

Nonetheless, I am still intrigued and will continue to persevere through the book to see if it eventually captures my interest.

Who knows, maybe as I progress, I will discover new aspects of Steve Martin's writing that will surprise and delight me.

It has captured my heart and imagination from the very first moment.

The story is engaging, filled with interesting characters and plot twists that keep me on the edge of my seat.

The acting is superb, with each actor bringing their character to life in a believable and captivating way.

The set design and costumes are also top-notch, creating a visually stunning and immersive experience.

Picasso at the Lapin Agile is an outstanding collection of plays penned by Steve Martin.

The main play, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, is truly remarkable. It envisions a bar in France where, one day, Picasso and Einstein encounter each other and engage in a profound discussion about their lives, the worlds they inhabit, and their innovative ideas.

At the end, a surprise guest appears, revealing to the two geniuses who truly holds the reins of human destiny.

Other plays in the collection, such as WASP, are equally hilarious and merit top billing.

The conversation about hell between a young student and his father in one of the plays is alone worth the price of admission.

Overall, Picasso at the Lapin Agile is a must-read for anyone interested in thought-provoking and entertaining theatre.

Fun, quick read.

Martin does an excellent job of keeping the dialogue lively throughout the play. The people he creates are not only fun but also delightfully quirky, which adds to the overall charm of the piece.

The fictional view of Picasso and Einstein meeting, talking, and hanging out at a bar for the duration of the play is truly captivating. It makes the reader eager to follow their conversations and interactions.

In this short piece, Martin showcases his skills as an excellent writer. He manages to combine seriousness and silliness in a way that results in an intriguing group of characters and an engaging story.

Overall, it's a highly enjoyable read that leaves the reader with a sense of satisfaction and a desire to explore more of Martin's work.

I used to own this collection during my high school days. I vividly remember seeing Picasso performed just once, and I truly thought it was an outstanding and uproariously hilarious experience.

Moreover, I also believed that it was rather remarkable and cool that Steve Martin had this intellectual playwright aspect to his persona. Objectively speaking, I suppose that is still valid. However, in this post-Shopgirl society that we inhabit, perhaps the luster has somewhat diminished from his image as a pretentious literary figure. I haven't delved into any of his books for several years now. Although I had liked all of them at one point, for some reason, they didn't seem to leave a particularly lasting and satisfying aftertaste.

I guess the reason for this might be that I went to college with an abundance of guys who were precisely like him, only they weren't famous. Maybe this familiarity has dulled my perception of his works over time.
