Wow! Great adventure continues and I can't take my eyes of it! I loved Winry and Granny! The interaction between Winry and Edward was so enjoyable and funny. I feel the beginning of a great love between them!))

Another excellent and action-packed volume in this epic series!!

After reading this third volume, I am reallyyyy struggling not going out and trying to find the whole series to own because it is fantastic and just amazed at how we have new characters being added into the story, but it's not overwhelming in the least. Each side character is unique and stands well on their own as their own character. I can't say that any two characters are the same and that is completely awesome as a reader to feel this way!

However, the side character who gets the win is definitely Sheska! Oh my goodness, her passion for books/reading and reading be the only thing she was "good at" sounds completely hilarious as a reader, but her honest transparency and then bashing herself because it was her passion really stirred my heart. I LOVED how Edward and Al helped her and how she was able to use that in passion in a job that truly was fitting for her. As Al tells her, "I think being so passionate about something is a talent in itself." Love love love it!

With that said though, things are continuing to get more and more intense with the overall story. Like with this new revelation, what are these brothers going to do now? *nervous laughter* I feel that this story is fairly dark, but different than say Demon Slayer. There is an underlying "issue" of humanity and humanity's worth with manipulation from the bad guys it seems. I really admire Edward in how despite the backstory and the "presentation" of the people they fight in this story, he refuses to take another person's life. I mean, rightfully so because he IS our hero! But the conversations of these fighters hits deep and opens the gates for questioning the morale and ideas that these brothers hold dear to and fight for.

I have no idea what is going to happen next based off that ending!! Things don't look too good, but hoping one of the other state alchemists shows up because he's awesome and one of my favorite characters to see on page!

Again, another awesome volume!

- I'm back and forth with my feelings about the characterization of Edward. On the one hand, he's a "likable protagonist" in that we can appreciate his endurance and drive. On the other hand, I'm annoyed by the manipulation.

- I did like a decision made about Alphonse's character, which balanced out my thoughts about Edward a bit.

- Some of the characters that are only present in one chapter are bland and I'm pulled out of the story when they're regarded as important when they're not developed well.

- In terms of entertainment, this series continues to be impressive. The world-building is intricate and the plot is progressing steadily. I can understand why this series is so loved.

I love the page turns in this. “Of course we won’t run off to the secret lab”. Turns page and they’re running off to the lab lmao

For me, this volume was the perfect mix of humour, action and feelings (and by that I mean both positive and negative/sad ones). I loved finding out more about Ed and Al's backstory, the people who matter to them and a tiny bit more about other characters and plot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and can't wait to continue! I'm so glad to be buddy reading this
