This time the volume ends with a cliffhanger. Edward fights a really strong opponent and is left in a bad shape in front of more strong opponents. The identity of the the ones behind Philosopher's stone was just about to be revealed, but at the last moment prevented by the mysterious duo of Lust and Envy. Although the truth behind the philosopher's stone was revealed in this volume, but the truth behind the truth is still shrouded in mystery. Also the fate of Scar is uncertain after his fight against Gluttony. And it would be really unfair if Granny Pinako and Winry were not mentioned in this review. They are the only home that Elric brothers can return to. And most certainly we will be seeing more of Winry as suggested in this volume. All in all the chemistry between Winry and Elric brothers as childhood friend is really heart warming. So, the manga isn't only about Action and Mystery, its also about the human relation and emotion. I hope to see more of the cameo character Seska the bookworm. I really envy her power to memorize everything after reading a book once. Just like Bidyasagar of Bengal.

The Elric brothers travel back to their home town for recuperation before returning to their quest where they face a life or death battle against guardians! This volume sees the introduction of their female 'team' mechanic Winry, we learn more about Mustang and the dark past of the Alchemists. As I get used to the art, the series gets easier to enjoy, Admittedly my favourite characters at this point are the antagonists Lust, Gluttony and Envy! ....But it is the Alchemists' backstory that has me so much more fascinated that the quest for the Stone at the moment. A 6.5 out of 12, Three Star read.

This volume delves a bit more into Alphonse, which is much appreciated. I think the next volume would talk more about his feelings about his soul being bound to the suit of armor.

We meet Winry, who’s an interesting character. I appreciated the way she was written a lot more than Horikoshi’s handling of Mei. Winry seems capable and smart for the most part and the focus was on her skill alone.

We learn about Colonel Mustang’s ambitions, which I’m sure will lead to him making some shady decisions in the future.

This continues the dark thread with human sacrifices being part of the story. There’s a cliffhanger at the end and I’ll definitely read the next one!

Хубавото е, че издателство Pro Book демонстрира доста приличен пусков ритъм на тези симпатично оформени томчета; приятните ми впечатления от историята също се запазват.

It is getting more interesting. I feel sad for Elric brothers(because of their bodies), still, they are amazing.

Estou achando Fullmetal Alchemist envolvente. Além de tudo a autora consegue trabalhar a comédia como ninguém. Mas não só isso. Tudo aqui é bem colocado. Isso torna a leitura bem prazerosa.

(Chapter's 9-12)I enjoyed these chapters and seeing how Al and Ed have such a strong bond for each other. Ed gets fixed by their childhood friend and mechanic, Winry. Ed then fixes Al and they head off. It was interesting to see how Ed fixed Al, he knew exactly what to do! Major Armstrong is really funny (not to mention huge too!) and he likes to take care of the Elric brothers. So far in the book, everyone mistakes Al for the "Fullmetal Alchemist" because of his armored body. I felt frustrated though for Ed and Al when they went to a library that might have contained information on the philosopher's stone, but only to find that the library got burned down! I also felt a bit scared for Scar (even though he's a bad guy) when he got attacked by Gluttony because Gluttony is scary! I was shocked to find out that

****SPOILER****

That the raw materials for the philosopher's stone is human lives!

***************

It was really cool though when Ed and Al met soul armor like Al at the 5th laboratory, and dang, soul armored people can fight really well! I felt bad though because Barry (one of the soul armors) managed to convince Al that maybe he isn't real and that Ed just made him with fake memories.

With an ally from the military, the brothers now run into Scar and his own terrifying mission before embarking on a journey to their mechanist for repairs. Along the way, they run into a potential source of information that could guide them towards the philosopher's stone. Unfortunately for them, even if they now know the dark secret about the making of such stones, they run into new enemies (old for readers) who wish to put an end in their tracks before they become too bothersome.

I'm still on the fence about this series. I like it, but I don't love it. So far the plot feels more like a subplot that's building towards something big. Which maybe it is, which I guess is fine.
