The Archie Americana Series: Best of the Eighties is truly a remarkable and engaging collection.

It delves deep into the vibrant and diverse world of 1980s fashion and pop culture, hitting both the high and low notes with great precision.

The gang takes us on a thrilling exploration of various 80s pop culture topics. We have the electrifying break dancing, the rebellious punk music, the groovy roller disco, the iconic Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen, the addictive Trivial Pursuit and Wheel of Fortune, and of course, the beloved ET.

Since we're dealing with Archie here, there isn't an abundance of complex storylines or valuable life lessons. However, that doesn't take away from the overall charm and entertainment value.

Apart from Rex Lindsey receiving credit for the cover, there are no other specific credits listed in this collection. Fortunately, the issues of the Archie books from which the stories are drawn are provided, allowing enthusiasts to potentially figure out who drew what if they so desire. Most likely, it's the work of Rex Lindsey, Stan Goldberg, and Dan DeCarlo. And to top it off, there are page numbers for once!

All in all, the Archie Americana Series: Best of the Eighties offers an interesting and unique perspective on the best and worst of 1980s pop culture through the familiar Archie lens. It definitely earns a solid 4 out of 5 burgers.

The American youth in the 1980s had significantly more access to disposable income compared to any other previous decade.

This led to the emergence of various new fashion trends, ranging from the preppy look to the punk rock movement. The diva Veronica Lodge rocked Bo Derek's hairstyle with a touch of scary caution. Meanwhile, John Travolta's dreamy reign continued, and the Urban Cowboy phenomenon gave rise to a whole new generation of fans.

Archie had a visitor from another galaxy, an ode to E.T.'s epic run. Betty OWNS the Flash Dance trend with her quirky home video, and rap music comes to the rescue of The Archies during a slump.

One can also observe Michael Jackson's unknown influence on The Archies and engage in a game of *Trivial Pursuit* as it takes on a life of its own. Betty even has an encounter with her idol, Bruce Springsteen, with some unexpected hitches.

The Eighties was indeed a fun, cheesy, and endearing decade, and the team from Riverdale does justice to its spirit and essence.

In the 80s, Archie presented some really cool fashions that were quite eye-catching.

However, one aspect that started to get a bit annoying was the constant references to knockoff versions of singers.

It seemed that instead of focusing solely on the unique style and charm that Archie had to offer, there was an overemphasis on these knockoff interpretations.

This took away from the overall authenticity and distinctiveness of the Archie brand.

While the fashions themselves were often trendy and appealing, the constant harking back to these knockoff singer references made it feel a bit less original and more derivative.

It would have been great if Archie could have found a way to showcase its own style without relying so much on these somewhat tired comparisons.

Perhaps then, it could have truly stood out as a fashion icon of the 80s in its own right.
