Many dynamics coursed through this story including soulmates, vengeance, curses, gods/ goddesses, dark-hunters, and sacrifice.... The primary story focuses on Talon, a cursed dark-hunter with a penchant for controlling his emotions, and Sunshine, an absentminded artist with a strong will and a determined heart, who are thrown together unexpectedly only to discover their bonds run deeper than either could have imagined... I enjoyed the history attached to these characters' story, but I felt somewhat challenged to connect with their present characters; I struggled to invest fully in their storyline and found my attention drifting when the focus was on them.... however, the underlying storylines that focused on Acheron, Zarek, and Valerius held my attention completely and had me desiring their books so I could devour their stories... Each of these characters is haunted in their own way and it intrigues me as to how they will achieve their HEA... 3.5 Stars for the primary story and 4.5 Stars for the underlying storylines, so 4 Stars overall:)

The second or third book in the Dark=Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenton. Set in New Orleans, this tells the story of Talon, a Celtic Dark Hunter. He rescues Sunshine Runningwolf from Daimons and then gets ran over by a Marti Gras float. Fun! Anyway, Sunshine takes him to her loft apartment when he refuses an ambulance. Then come to find out, Sunshine is in danger and Talon is elected to protect her.

Again, I have read these out of order. Since this is one of the earlier ones in the series I don't think I missed anything. I liked it and it made me curious about Zarek's book. I'm really not a big paranormal romance fan but I am enjoying a few books in this series.

The 3 star rating doesn't really apply to Talon & Sunshine, as they were tedious & boring. The rating is more about the overall plot and the other characters, like Acheron, Zarek, Vane, Kyrian, etc.
