What's to say? It's Plato: a philosophical classic. I went through this book with a guy who got his PhD under the editor, John Cooper (Princeton). That made it for accessible and illuminating, especially for someone who doesn't consider himself into "ancient philosophy."

An amazing version of a classic philosophy collection. Undoubtedly my favorite book as I have bought it in both digital and actual print versions. If you are looking for the foundation of western philosophic thought look no further. As I recall this book was more expensive than other versions of the collected works of Plato, yet I have not found any which can compare in terms of ease of use or clarity. If I could give this a rating beyond 5 stars I would simply because it has the capacity to change the way people think, the way people argue, and the way society functions; all for the better.

This is one of my favorites. Honestly, professional philosophers will still need to get different translations of individual dialogues and there is no commentary. Still, I think Hackett did a great job on this volume. This is a must-have for anyone building their library of good books!

A decent collection of Plato’s dialogues. Not all of the best translations, but at least you have everything together.

I never read the whole book but am taking it off of my "currently reading" list as it may be some years before I get back to completing it. Plato's dialogues are always interesting and entertaining to read and at some point I'll have to finish the volume.

It’s no longer Greek to me!

To not have read this would be a massive hole in one’s liberal education. Thoroughly recommended. I’ll give it a break, but wouldn’t rule out reading it again.
