You really can tell this was written by a woman and I mean that in the most awesome way, it's SO cool to see real women characters in a manga like this damn
A detour to meet a legendary mechanic allows us to better understand Winry's determination and kind-hearted nature. The story also sends the Elric brothers to their teacher who learns staggering news about the two brothers and what they've been up to. This volume begins the journey down memory lane through flashback sequences that exposes the brothers' childhood and what occurred to their parents.

This is “fullmetal alchemist” I love this manga. This is so exciting. His manga is very famous and this manga is loved lol over the world. If you read this manga, you maybe want to be a alchemist.
The battle scenes of this manga are very exciting. And the characters of this manga are very attractive. It is difficult to decide favorite character. I think the line is so cool. All points is so exciting, interesting and cool.
First read Oct. 2013: Pretty sure I'm just going to go through and rate every single volume five stars because I just love this whole series so much I can't even.
The visit to Rush Valley puts a bit more focus on Winry, which is always a nice thing; however, meeting Izumi Curtis is not as impressive as I expected. With Winry finding someone to be apprentice to, the boys continue their journey to find their teacher from their younger days. But meeting her is strange - and her status is not well explained (she's blind? isn't she? sometimes it's hard to tell). Also, the point of the Elric Brothers having their origin story told at this point is... strange.
This volume, as well as the previous ones, seems to be laying the groundwork for the plot ahead, so nothing much happens. It's interesting to find out about Edward and Al's past and meet people they know, but I wish we get back to the actual story soon, or I'm going to lose interest in this manga.
