This one was really cute and well done. I liked that it was a little more believable than the Candy Cane Clue one I also read.

My mom got me this book before I danced in my first Nutcracker ballet, and I loved it. It is about Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, a pair of mystery-solving twins. Ashley is in the production while her sister is just helping out backstage. During one of their rehearsals, their friend Miranda's ballet slippers get stolen, and it is up to the girls to find out who did it so she is able to perform. Eventually they find out that it was one of the dancers brothers, and everyone is able to perform. I liked this book because I was able to relate to it because I knew everything about what goes into a ballet show and all the characters. But this book is good for all girls, maybe even boys, that like a good mystery. It is also a good chapter book for growing readers.

My last Mary-Kate and Ashley book!! I used to love these books so much. Honestly, they’re probably what started my passion for true crime

Ashley has a part in the ballet, *The Nutcracker*, and The Trenchcoat Twins have a mystery to solve.
The mystery is pretty clean-cut and easy to figure out, once they all think about it. But, that takes some time.
It turns out to be the Sara's brother, who feels he has ruined everything, who stole Miranda's lavender slippers. He wanted to sign Danielle's name to them and convince Sara that they were Danielle Dabro's famous slippers, since DD's had been sold from the gift shop.
But, M-K&A convince him to return them to Miranda, so that she can dance well in the ballet.
In the end, Sara ends up with DD's actual slippers, because Miranda's are returned to her, and Miranda gives the real DD slippers to Sara.
