Ya you know the typical vampire storys where the average vampire drinks blood and can turn into a bat and fly away. But this is not one of those storys this is a story about a boy (that is at least 30) that does not age as fast as we do and doesnt turn into a bat and fly away when they feel like there losing a battle. No this is a book about Darren Shan a vampires assistent that will soon be a ex-vampires assistent. But before I can tell you that I have to tell you about everything else leading up to that. Assuming you have read all the other books they have gone back to Mr. Creapsly's home town and are looking for the vampanise lord.

They have ben told that if they kill this vampanise lord they will win the war of scars (war between vampires and vampanise). They were told that they will have very few chances to kill this lord. They have used three now they will miss there forth. One night Darren was walking to the hotel he was staying at and he is confronted by a vampanise he was losing the fight and just before he was going to die and gun was fired and the vampanise was hit but not killed so he took off and the man who had saved darren pointed the gun at him and said "I know what you are" and darren instanly knew the voise. It was his old fraind Steve!

Ya I know crazy right and thats not even the good part th good part is when Steve turns on him and he is in leage with the vampanise. So they are drawn down into the sewers and that is when the battle begins! They are out numbered and they have no way out but to fight there way out Mr. Crepsly (Darrens mentore) has put his life on the line to fight the vampanise lord who was whaching the battle from a ledge a ways away. Mr. Crepsly ran across the bridge and then they engage on an epic battle in which two will die. Before I tell you what happens you have to read the book.

Now that you have read the book I will tell you Mr. Creapsly kills the vampanise lord by throwing him down into the firey pit of staks and then Steve dose a full on tackle into Mr. Creapsly an Creapsly is falling into the pit of staks but is holding onto Steves weapon and is intent on bringing him down with him! But Vancas brother grabes Steves other arm and is the only thing between him Steve and Mr. Creaplsy is the firey staks that will soon clame a life. Then Vancas brother proposes a deal Mr. Creaplsy will fall and Steves life will be spared along with Darren and Vancas and everyone else in the cavern. Mr. Creapsly takes the deal and lets go of Steve and he falls into the pit of firey staks. Crazy I know one of the main charicters dies right there and taht is not even the end! After the big battle Steve goes up to Darren and tells him the truth! He whispers into Darrens ear and then Darren begins to yell out but then he is put out by vancas brother so that they can escape! When Darren comes too he tells Vanca that Mr. Creapsly died in vain. STEVE WAS THE VAMPANINSE LORD!

I really enjoyed this book and am now reading the next book. If I had to recomend a book this serese would be it!It has amazing action and is full of uniqe suprises like the one I have just had! I hope to finish the seres by the end of the year and I also hope that they will be full of action like this one has been. But my question is how will the aurther make it as fun as all the others without Mr. Creapsly!

Steve is the Lord of the Vampaneze?! What? I should have guessed because it makes so much sense. What better way to get his revenge? But to take it that far is crazy. Unless Mr. Tiny planned it all? Sounds like something he would do.

After the betrayal in the last book at the hands of Darren's best friend, Steve, Darren, Mr. Crepsley, Harkat, and Vancha are framed as murders, who were committed by the vampaneze. And Now on the run from both the human police and vampaneze; it might just be the end!

They have been told in the past that if they kill this vampanise lord before he's blooded they will end the war of scars before it truly begins (the war's between the vampires and the vampanise). Mr Crepsley come face to face with the Vampaneze Lord and ends up in an epic battle with him and both die. After the battle Steve tells Darren the truth, he whispers that he's the Vampaninse Lord!

Killers of the Dawn (Cirque du Freak #9), Darren Shan

Killers of the Dawn is the ninth book in The Saga of Darren Shan by Darren Shan (his real name, Darren O'Shaughnessy). It is also the third book in the Vampire War trilogy.

It also continues the events of Allies of the Night which leaves Darren meeting his ex-girlfriend, Debbie and his ex-bestfriend, Steve Leonard, who is later revealed to be a half vampaneze.

Mr. Crepsley, Darren, and Harkat go into the tunnels, where they find Vancha. They arm themselves with weapons carelessly discarded by the Vampaneze and seek out Steve.

Steve calls the rest of the Vampaneze. There is a battle between the Vampaneze and the vampires, and soon they face the Vampaneze Lord. The Vampaneze Lord says that he and Mr. Crepsley must fight one another alone with no help from anyone.

The Vampaneze and Vampires stop their fighting. At last Mr. Crepsley kills the Vampaneze Lord, but Steve jumps onto his back and causes him to fall over the cliff, where he is hanging over the pit of flaming stakes with Steve. Since he believes the Vampaneze Lord is dead, he agrees to kill himself and stop holding on to Steve in exchange for rest.

Mr. Crepsley lets go of Steve and falls into the pit below, giving Darren a smile as they've succeeded in ending the war. After he is dead and everyone has safely departed, Steve reveals himself to Darren as the Vampaneze Lord: the one whom Darren or Vancha must destroy for the sake of the world. Mr. Crepsley's death had been in vain, which leaves Darren devastated and feeling empty.

3,5/5. Not the best one of the series for sure. It has a good cliff hanger, like always so of course I want to push on reading the series which is very good, but this book as a standalone, felt a bit long, even if it,s really short, a bit repetitive and not much character development. It felt like the book is overstretch and by the way overstretching the series. The main problem I have was that for most of the book a character, a vampire, is very concern and bother by a sprained ankle... I mean he is a vampire, and old one, how could that bother him so much for so long... When we could have been trough a very intense confrontation, we failed a bit short, avoiding it, running from it and it let me own a bit. I know this might sound really bad, but the book is still fun, but the series was such a hit with almost every books so far that my expectation are really high and this one didn't reach them totally.

I don't think I ever got this far into the series when I was younger. I am actually shocked at how this book ended, except for that little surprise there. Man, I really enjoy this series all over again as an adult.
