This is a fun read aloud to use for an SEL lesson or to help students identify feelings. The pictures of this book really help tell the story and there is a clear marriage between illustrations and text. This book goes through feelings that students might be feeling or be able to relate to. This book is great for early readers as there is a lot of rhyming.

I loved reading through this book!! It has great illustrations, it has a lot of rhymes, and some funny words. I for sure think this book would be a great read aloud because it would make a lot of kiddos laugh and giggle. It also gives a great message. It talks about how there are a lot of emotions you can feel and how to decipher which one is which.

This book shows great emotions on how someones day is going. I enjoyed reading this book because it relates to how people feel throughout each new day. Some days are great and some are not so good, but if you tell yourself you are going to have a great day then you most likely will!

This book explains how important to know that its' okay to have different emotions throughout the day or to even have one emotion all day. How are you today? When teacher ask to children, can children express their feelings accurately? This book is suitable for teaching children how to express their feelings. This story and emotional express words help children to raise self-esteem to accept their own everyday feelings. The illustration depicting the facial expressions of the main character and the detailed environment is also helpful for the children to understand and interest in this book.

This is a rhyming book about the different moods children experience. I enjoyed reading it and think that many children will be relate to the main character and the different things she feels. This book can spark conversations about how children in the classroom feel and teachers can ask the children if they have ever felt the way the main character does. This will be a good book to use when teaching social-emotional concepts.

I truly enjoyed reading this engaging book about moods. The rhyming makes for fun reading while identifying a host of different feelings that a child may experience from day to day or even moment to moment. The colorful illustrations bring a sense of whimsy and the dial-an-expression at the end added to the sense of fun.

SUMMARY: This story is about a young girl's battle with her daily, conflicting moods such as silly, angry, sad, etc. Each page begins with her describing the mood she is in and why she is feeling this way. For example, one day she is angry because her friends had a play date and did not invite her. The illustrations of this story are very fun and help portray the speakers' feelings. The text of this story rhymes which makes the book a fun read! "Today I Feel Silly" helps children explore their emotions and have fun with their changing, daily moods.

THEME: The theme of the book is self-recognition of feelings and emotions. By providing relatable examples, children can tap into their feelings and examine what may make them feel angry, silly, joyful, etc.

PERSONAL RESPONSE/RECOMMENDATION: I chose to review this book because growing up it was one of my favorites. I loved books that rhymed and had fun pictures to read along with. I identified much with the main character because I would never know what mood I would wake up to! I would recommend this story to any child in 2nd grade or younger. It is important to be in touch with your emotions to learn how to cope and this book helps that development.

The illustrations are colorful and playful, silly and jazzy.

The concept that humans always have at least one emotion at any moment, I didn't learn it until I became an adult. This is a great book to help children accept emotions in all four categories of happy, sad, scared, and angry.

This is a great book that not only has rhyming words but introduces a variety of different moods and feelings other than the basic happy, sad, and angry. This book uses great descriptive words and explains why the cute little girl is feeling the different moods that she feels. Not to mention the wonderful, fun, and detailed pictures on each page. It is a silly book that introduces social/emotional skills to young children. Children can use this book as a guide to express their feelings such as "I am happy" or "I am sad."
