"Today I Feel Silly" is a children's book written by Jamie Lee Curtis and illustrated by Laura Cornell. The book follows a young girl as she experiences a range of emotions, from silly to grumpy to excited and everything in between. Through the use of playful rhymes and colorful illustrations, Curtis and Cornell capture the complexity of emotions and offer children a fun and relatable way to explore their own feelings. The book also includes a helpful "Emotionary" at the end, which provides definitions and examples of different emotions. "Today I Feel Silly" is a wonderful resource for parents and teachers looking to help children better understand and express their emotions in a healthy and positive way.

The things we liked about this book are it tells about how we feel and that it's okay to feel sad or angry or happy. There are lots of details that tell us how the girl feels. It was a fun book to read, but we also thought it was too long and the printing was too small to read.

1.tThis book is about a young girl, who shares her emotions by telling the reader what she did that day. The emotions range from feeling silly, happy, sad, confused, and give examples as to why she is feeling that way. The young girl figures out that she likes to feel silly and happy, rather than sad or confused, but understands that any emotion she is feeling is okay.
2.tThe major theme of this story is to be okay with whatever emotions you are feeling, because all emotions are valid. It talks about what causes you to feel a certain way, and how it can change in an instant.
3.tI would give this book a rating of 5 stars, because I think the illustrations of the young girl show that she can be silly and eccentric, but also have down days. I think this is a book that all young readers can relate to, because even if you seem happy on the outside, you could be feeling a totally different way on the inside.
4.tI really liked reading this book, and I think that the way the main character was depicted was very fun and crazy. She was always wearing a fun costume and had a fun hairdo, and was doing something exciting that young readers could relate to. I liked how it showed her family, as well as herself, and how they struggled and worked together to overcome their hardships. I liked the font of the story as well, because it matched the craziness of the young girl and her crazy costumes.
5.tI would recommend this book to any young child, because it shows that you can feel a whole range of emotions, and that’s okay. The main character, the young red-haired girl, is a great depiction to show children different emotions, because her costumes and hair change to match what she is feeling. I think this would be a good book to read in a classroom setting, because the students could relate to it and see themselves as the main character, and understand what she is feeling, which could help them process their own emotions.

Pros: Cheery illustrations, silly rhyming text, content that helps kids label their feelings without judgement

Cons: Pictures that I fear might lead my kids to make inappropriate play choices (drawing mustaches on photos in a photo album, putting lipstick on stuffed animals), too much emphasis on crushes and boyfriends

This book is about a girl and she has many different moods every day. This relates to every human being because it talks about different moods everyone can go through. The biggest lesson it is ok to have emotions because that is part of every human being. I would show this book to Second graders because in the end of the book there is a wheel to turn to show the emotion you are feeling.

Cute kid's book...I'm always curious when a public figure writes a children's book, and this one definitely doesn't disappoint. However, there was something a little weird to me when it came to rhymes about having a boyfriend or a crush on one's teacher...aren't these books for little bitty kids? That bit of weirdness left a bad taste in my mouth, but other than that, this book is great!

This is a picture book for grades Prek through 2nd. The book goes through the emotions of a young elementary aged girl from day to day life. It covers a wide variety of feelings from silly, sad, mad, quiet, lonely, angry, and a few others. Each day she says how she's feeling and then tries to explain why. The book concludes with saying that it's okay to feel emotions and asks the reader how they are feeling today. I gave this book five stars because I love how accurately it depicts and describes the emotions and thoughts of the young child. The illustrations in this book are very colorful and detailed for how each day is described. The book is a great reminder for children and anyone who reads it that moods change and come and go and that it's okay even when we feel cranky, sad, or mad. This would be a great way to discuss emotion regulation and coping skills with young students.

This is a cute book with colorful pictures that talks about emotions. It explains that we feel different each day and there are different reasons behind those feelings. This book has a fun page at the end where the children can spin the wheel and change the facial features of the character.

This is another excellent book to help children understand different ways they are feeling. It teaches the children that there can be many reasons why you may feel a certain way, and why. It also teaches coping skills. I really enjoyed this book.

This humorous book shows children various emotions through rhyming. I love the colorful illustrations which are sure to capture a child's attention. Even though the book is humorous, there are some phrases which may be inappropriate for young children. I would read this book to elementary school kids.

Cute book about the range of emotions kids can feel from day to day. I didn't like the mentions of a love triangle and a crush on a teacher though, just unnecessary
