Dr. Seuss never fails. This as a great counting book, but done in a silly and fun way. It introduces rhyming words and repetitive phrases. As usual, it offers amusing illustrations.
I still have various phrases stuck in my head after reading this last night. This book is silly and is fun to read out loud. I’m not sure why some of the characters care so much about what the others are doing that they would chase them. Not a favorite but still a fun read.
I love how this book has bolder pictures, and has a different way of counting to ten!! Anytime I read it to my daughter she is just staring at the pictures and looking at me when I point out he apples or the animals.
✔️Published in 1961. Sometimes you just have to grab a short book with a simple plot to help you escape from a complex world. Ten Apples Up On Top! fits the bill.. This is a fabulous book that uses only 75 words to tell the hilarious story of counting with apples.
Mickey loves this book and wants me to read it to him all the time. "I hold it you read it" is his demand. He then examines the facial expressions and asks why the lion is mad or the giraffe (he calls the dog a giraffe) is mad because the lion did something. And he counts the apples which is cute and also very annoying because there are a lot of apples in the book. And he wants me to identity all the food in the refrigerator near the end. Love my sweet Mick
This was a very cute book. Children love counting the apples as the characters stack them on their heads. The antics of the characters are increasingly funny building up to a climax with a surprise ending. The text is easy for emerging readers to read as well.
