Last night each of my son's had to pick a Dr. Seuss book that was most important to their life. My 10 year old son picked this one and he read it to me for a change of pace. But his is the book that my husband and I must have read to him over 200 times when he was an early reader. This book not only taught him his ABC's but how to read with gusto! 5 stars!

Goes through each letter of the alphabet and names some words that start with the letter. Nothing overly special.

I read this to Julianna tonight as she is not feeling well. She gives this book 5 stars.

Now on on 8/11/22 had Julianna read 1/2 the book to me of parts she could read and I helped her sound out the words she did not know. I read the 2nd half of book as its a bit long in one sitting.

My grand daughter read this one to me. The majority of words easy for her to handle.

Reading this book and a whole bunch of other ones for a literature review assignment.

I think that this is the most amazing alphabet book ever, word-wise. (Animalia wins for pictures, I think.)

We've been collecting Dr. Seuss books for quite some time, because we tend to like them. I never read this book as a child, and I'm almost glad, because I get to be so astounded now as an adult.

First of all, there's great meter. Second, there's tons of alliteration. Third, the alliteration is not only at the beginnings of words, but inside them, too:

"Barber
baby
bubbles
and a
bumblebee"

"Four fluffy feathers
on a
Fiffer-feffer-feff."

I actually didn't notice this until my son had insisted on me reading this to him about twenty times. I woke up in the middle of the night and thought, "Hey!" And since I practically have this book memorized (the catchy rhythm and alliteration help), I went through the book in my head at four in the morning and realized exactly how amazing this book is.

Simple words. Amazing alliteration. Great meter. Incredible creativity. How did he manage?

Dr Seuss is still my favourite children’s author. Enjoyed our family read time again tonight.

This book is amazing! I bought it from thrift books to give to my godchild. I read through it and it is really good! It is fun because it has different words that begin with the letters. It also shows a big and little letter for each one to help kids recognize upper & lower case.
It's fun and it is definitely one I will probably buy for some other kids!

This is an excellent book for some one who is just learning to read. I look forward to reading more of this author's work.

Lots of fun alliterations in this book! I think this would be great for kids learning how to read beyond the bare basics. (or fun to read to kids learning how to read)
