This is part of a personal challenge to read all the books in my parent's house
When I was a kid, I would occasionally consult this book whenever I had a vivid dream or nightmare (mostly nightmares though - I have trouble remembering my dreams but I always remember my nightmares). I always ended up feeling disappointed with the interpretations that this book provided, mostly because the interpretations provided were clearly meant for adults and not kids.
I'm an adult now though, so I feel it's necessary to revisit this book and see if the dream interpretations are more accurate now.
First of all, the first 200 pages or so of this dream dictionary consists of introductory chapters about different kinds of dreams, the psychology of dreams, how to induce creative dreams, how to keep a dream journal, various ways of interpreting dreams, as well as sample dreams and interpretations. To be honest, I found the text to be unbearably dry. I always thought the topic of dreams and dreaming should be interesting but the "science" behind them bored me to tears.
The rest of the book consists of the dictionary portion. (Also, for some reason, animals, environmental elements and types of people are broken down and included in the introductory paragraphs rather in the 'dictionary' portion of the book. Which is weird.)
Anyways, without further ado, time to interpret the messages from my subconscious!
n My Recurring Nightmaren
A recurring dream I've had since I got my braces removed (at the age of 10) was having all my teeth fall out. My dream always starts with one loose tooth (a molar), which I can't help but prod with my tongue. Every time I wiggle the loose tooth, another tooth would start to loosen up a bit. Eventually, all my teeth would become loose and I would have to clamp my mouth shut to keep them all in place and prevent them from falling out. I would clench my teeth so hard that I could feel the roots of my teeth dig uncomfortably into my gums.

I always thought these dreams were a kind of warning - my subconscious is telling me to take better care of my teeth because my parents spent a lot of money making sure they look nice. I'm pretty sure my subconscious is trying to scare me into flossing more, and reminding me to wear my retainers periodically, or it will plague me with more teeth-losing nightmares.
Let's see what this dream dictionary has to say about my dream.

….WTF? I don't really know what to make of this. According to this dream dictionary, I'm sexually aggressive? Or maybe every time I get this nightmare, it's a sign that I'm maturing and worrying about getting older (which is complete BS in my opinion)
