As the title says, this picks up twenty years after The Three Musketeers. The band has broken up and moved on with their lives, but now D'Artagnan is being asked to help aid the queen again because France is doing what they do best - revolution!
I'm not at all familiar with this part of history, so I didn't know what all would happen with the king and everything else. The plot wasn't quite as engaging as the first book, but our four MCs are still in top form. The queen's no slouch either.
This is a bit overlong and slow in the middle, but enjoyable to see what the characters are up to now.
I listened to this on LibriVox, which is always a ring toss as far as quality goes. There are two different versions. I tried the one that's all narrated by the same guy, but I could not get into his reading at all. The one with various different readers was better and they were all pretty adequate, if not great.
