Another great storyline with no contradictions or spelling mistakes.
I really enjoyed how in this book, fear is described as ‘awful as any disease, as terrible as the fever…” Soren had just survived. It reminded me of the movie ‘Apocalypto,’ when Flintsky notes that the refugees are sick with fear and urges Jaguarpaw to never allow fear to infect him.

A story full of plot twists, cliffhangers, and betrayal.
The main character, Soren, struggles to return to a place that he lived in for almost his whole childhood.
The Chaw of Chaws must return to a dreaded place that he (Soren) despises- St. Aggies.
Inside the cruel place, the Chaw of Chaws are tasked to find spies working for the Pure Ones that are trying to find more information of a large stash of flecks that they could use for great evil.

Something that I strongly enjoyed in this book was that there was a lot of character development that you could see while reading, which is often not seen in a lot of books.
The Siege also makes sure that scenes that might make a reader feel lonely in are shortened and don’t apply much detail too it, while scenes that a reader may find important has a good amount of detail in it.
The Siege described the characters emotions and personalities very well without just saying what it was. An example of this is in the prologue in the book, where you can clearly see an emotion of hatred and anger that was described very well without saying what this emotion was.
The writing style in The Siege is very well written, and is very simple to read and simple to understand. There is so much suspense that made The Siege seem so interesting and made me want to read even more, and made me wish that the book was just a bit longer.

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves owls and would like to learn more about them. I would also recommend it to anyone who loves seeing plot twists and cliffhangers as there are cliffhangers in a few chapters that will make you want to read more and more, and anyone who loves suspense in a book.

I like this book but it is somewhat sad, because of Strix Struma's death. Like Otulissa, I had very much liked Strix Struma, so her death was very sad to me. I don't think that the Strix Struma Strikers can be the Strix Struma Strikers without the dignified and beloved Spotted Owl that they were named for and leaded by. But she died at the talons of Her Pureness General Mam Nyra, mate of Metal Beak (a.k.a. KLUDD and HIGH TYTO), so Struma's death was a war-caused death. [i'll stop right here with Strix Struma's death- i'm not going to go on about it like Otulissa, who kept saying "I could've saved her".]

Other than Struma's death, this book is great. It has exciting battles, and even a slipgizzle/turnfeather is at the Great Tree. The Bonk Brigade (Flame Squadron) did some great fighting. The Band even came up with a plan to do a surprise attack on the Pure Ones. So/ I give this book 5 stars.

There was nothing particularly glorious or heroic about war, Soren realized. It was really nothing more than a grubby, vile task to vanquish a foul tyranny led by his own brother.
Another favourite in the series!!! The deus ex machinas do deflate the tension in the fight scenes a bit, but they're still delightful to read!!! It's kinda funny how the heavier themes of the series flew (pun intended) over my head as a kid......this is a children's series that tackles eugenics and fascism while stressing the importance of fighting evil with knowledge, and community. Moreover, violence is traumatic and not easy to experience, and yet....it is necessary for the sake of peace sometimes. Such complex themes keep the books relevant and interesting, even after all these years. Great addition to the series.

The story builds toward an intense and thrilling confrontation, making this book one of the most exciting yet! The tension rises as the fight for Ga’Hoole becomes more urgent, and the powerful speeches throughout add so much weight to the story. The characters have come such a long way since the beginning, growing in strength, wisdom, and determination. Every moment feels important, and the depth of the world continues to impress. The siege itself is captivating, filled with suspense and high stakes, and it’s incredible to see how far this journey has taken everyone. I’m excited to see what comes next!

A lot of research, coupled with a great imagination. Certainly an unusual book.

In The Seige by Kathryn Lasky the guardians find out that Kludd is preparing to launch an attack on the great tree. So they go to war and begin to take precautions in order to protect thier home and everyone is going crazy preparing for the attack. Many are put in groups that are tasked with building defenses. Though many precautions are taken owls still die when an attack comes such as Strix Struma an experienced owl who Otulissa looked up to. The battle because of this took a heavy burden on her and she changed. Rather than be chatty and witty, she was calm and told Soren that they needed to attack the pure ones. This book was great it was both exciting and sad. Though I recommend this if you read the wolves of beyond or the previous Guardian’s of Ga Hoole books.
