I'm getting a bit frustrated with this series. Not because of the content, but because of the formating. Maybe I should be paying more attention to the table of contents, but nevertheless, I'm frustrated that sections on parenting toddlers and feeding toddlers are closer to the end. Shouldn't that come first? Instead, I happen upon them by accident on the way to the index.
I also am starting to dislike the overwhelming focus on safty in this book in particular. I understand that she needs to be thorough, but pages and page on how to make your home safe? Its crazy!
This series has become increasingly less important to me as we continue on our parenting road.
My husband and I love all of the books in this series. They are so helpful and informative, especially for first-time parents who are so nervous about EVERYTHING. It's a comfort! As I have more kids, I mainly skim the sections now for things that interest me with the new child, but for my first child these books were indispensable!
As with others in this series, lots of good info. However, a lot of it is repeated from book-to-book and I ended up skimming or skipping a significant chunk of material.
It was informative, some of it is out of date by now but still has a lot of useful information. It's always nice hearing the experiences of different parents to know you are not isolated in your experiences.
With a toddler, who has time to read about what is happening? Blink and the kiddo is on to the next chapter. been a while since I updated - survived the toddler years, perhaps with the help of this book... now on to teenage years... is there a book for that?
This book has a lot of great information about toddlers in it. I use it month to month to find out some of the things Elliot may or may not be doing. It's also cool for tips on illnesses, discipline, etc...
A toddler survival bible. A very informative and good resource.
I really enjoyed the sections that told you what things you could expect your child to do at what age, it was comforting to know my daughter is hitting all her milestones with ease.
Great potty training tips! The book is filled with different behaviours your toddler may be displaying and ways of coping with them. I like that it gives you more than one solution to common problems some ideas will work for some and not others but you can have your pick of ideas to find one that suits to you.
You can pick and choose what’s helpful for you and what you want from the book. It’s all positive reinforcement and friendly training methods which is perfect.
It also has a section on first aid and list of ailments and how to treat them. Definitely a book you can keep looking back to for reference and ideas.
Very good - I borrowed this one so I didn't literally finish it - I read ahead to about 22 months (Chloe is currently 16 months)... very useful info, but I wouldn't buy it if I can just borrow it every now and again
