I read them all in 5 days.. I think there are 27 books to this series or more.. I would definitely recommend this series to Adults .. I absolutely loved them. I can’t wait to start the next one..
Besides the fact that it is one of the rare books that makes me laugh out loud, it teaches me. Stephanie does teach me to be forgiving and understanding. only she would say something like this: " True, he was sort of chauvinist but it wasn't entirely his fault. After all, he was from New Jersey, sbd on top of that he was a Modelling. All things considered, I thought he was coping pretty well."
Three Plums in One by Janet Evanovich, the first three books in the Stephanie Plum series, had everything I wanted. Stephanie goes from an unemployed lingerie buyer to the tough world of bounty hunting for her cousin, Vinnie. I enjoyed Stephanie’s world with her whipper-snapper of a grandmother, her nagging mother, her lack of a reliable vehicle due to being broke, and the dark and rugged cop, Joe Morelli, who has charmed more than just her heart . One for the Money is being filmed for the big screen starring Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum.
I immediately fell for Stephanie Plum ... how can you not! She is a train wreck with plenty of mascara, and a fantastic family! Can't wait for more adventures!
BTW ... I am TOTALLY Team Ranger! Also Lula is AMAZING ... we all need a Lula in our lives! I have decided I want to be adopted by the Plums so I can have a Grama Mazur!
I have read the first 22 as well as the In-Between the Plums stories and I am so ready for the next several!
Just a kinda fun, but not to be taken too seriously. Stephanie Plum is a nice character, but I don't know if I could stay interested after 20+ Stephanie Plum novels. I'd love to see the characters evolve a little bit more. I rated it "it was ok". When I get bored, it'll always be a series I could return to.
While I have read all the the Stephanie Plum books, I will not add them here. These books are a pleasure to read, witty, cute and fun. I think if you live in NJ, you even appreciate them more. Who can not like reading about Stephanie's misadventures (blowing up cars, etc.), boyfriends, her hamster, her crazy grandmother and family? Don't forget Morelli and of course Ranger. And Lola? I have laughed out loud while reading these books, and they are the right type of books for a very enjoyable read.
This trilogy is an amazing beginning to a series that any book lover will love. Stephanie Plum is a crazy, accident prone, walking disaster, but you can't help but find yourself rooting for her from the get go. The farther you get into the first 3 books the more you start getting introduced to the other main characters such as Joe Morelli, Ranger, and Lula. The old saying " if I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all" seems to be a great way to sum up Stephanie's life. You never know what's going to happen to her next. You can count on Janet Evanovich making it something extremely entertaining though.
Ok, I'm about halfway through the first book. I *should* go back to my other books, but I can't renew it, so that's my excuse to keep reading.
Otherwise, these would be going straight into my stash of "books to read when I need a pick-me-up" along with Terry Pratchett's Night Watch (Discworld) books. I hoard them like a magpie hogging shiny things, and look at them with anticipation of a day when I just need a mental break and something to enjoy. The writing style is flippant, funny and enjoyable. Thanks Dani, Molly & Sherri for the recommendations!
And I've got to say, Grandma is awesome. Having once inadvertently blown the top off a nightstand with a .32, the "dining table" scene had me laughing out loud. My husband was amused as well, but...having been just on the other side of the wall from the nightstand homicide, not QUITE as amused as I was. ;)
Note: now that I'm done with all three: Book 1 is the best. The rest are fun, though.
I'm not sure what is worse for a hamster: belonging to a kid, or a bounty hunter. Honestly, I think it's a toss up.
I love Stephanie Plum. She's my ideal anti-hero, not as complex as Prufrock, but hey, she's from Jersey. These are great books to take to the beach or on planes when you need story distraction. The writing style is fast-paced and clever. Great dialog and character development. Your average comedy-action-romance books.
