I guess I can't really give a fair review until I'm a non-smoker for a good period of time, lol!
But there are some handy bits in the book. Things you may already know, but also some great tips on shifting your perspective.
I had my last cigarette around noon on 1/14/23. I haven't had too many cravings and at one point forgot that I used to be a smoker, lol!
So for now, I'll go 5 stars, but I'll have to check back in in a month, and maybe again at a year. :)

Aimed at Women but Fit for All

I'd enjoyed the original Easy Way book so much I bought this one as well to supplement my learning. While not as good as the first, it provides a great overview of the ideal program to quit tobacco for good.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to want to quit smoking. It gives you a pretty good perspective shift and makes you think twice about the reasons why you smoke. It's a pretty good mental preparation tool. Don't ask me about it for about five days, though...

Yipee! I am a non-smoker!

I listened to the audible (itunes) as I read along. I started the book in April 2018; got terribly nervous about quitting and put it down for two months. I've completed the book; reviewed some chapters (DEVASTION). I'm thrilled to be a non-smoker and believe that Easy Way to Quit Smoking has worked for me. The Easy Way to Lose Weight has worked for me; I have zero desire for processed foods, added sugars and beef. I've lost 25 lbs. in a couple of months. Now I've lost that nagging desire to smoke. I'm FREE!

I read this book in the year 2000 and haven't smoked since. After finishing it, thinking I was ready, I caved on the first day, but as I smoked that first cigarette I knew that this was my last pouch of tobacco, and it was. There were a few small pangs of withdrawal during the first three days, which rapidly abated; after that there was zero temptation to smoke again. Zero.
Some reviewers have said the book is repetitive and boring. It is repetitive, and the literary style makes Dan Brown look like Chekhov, but the repetition is necessary to demolish the stubborn, stupid delusions smokers have that keep them smoking. You can't knock a brick wall down with the gentle rap of a ball-peen hammer.
While the style is a dull it would be inappropriate to call it boring, as it has a proven potential to get rid of a highly damaging, repulsive habit. The very dullness can be turned to the reader's advantage, however. This is a book that you don't want to have to read a second time, so do it properly the first time. My copy was just 140 pages long. 140 small pages with big margins, all in all the equivalent length of about 50 Dan Brown pages. Don't skim; you must take on board the ideas properly so that they truly penetrate into your mind where good sense will almost inevitably triumph over stupidity. Take notes, they don't need to be in depth, but the process really helps you to absorb the book properly.
Follow the rules: I particularly liked the one about continuing to smoke until you have finished the book. I would sit down with a beer at the end of the day, roll myself a couple of ciggies and read 10 pages. This way it took just 2 weeks to finish.
Today, I am currently reading a biography of Leonardo da Vinci. It is a fascinating and inspiring account of one of humanity's greatest geniuses, but the odds are that it won't have as large an effect on my life as Allen Carr's stodgy little book.
