In the crazy world of Stephanie Plum, it was fun to have the change of direction from bounty hunting and crime solving to match making. Usually I don't feel very connected with the shorter books, but I thought this one grabbed me from the begining and was busy and funny and interesting and then...poof... it was over. It was nice to have a break in this book from the constant love triagle that is "Joe-Ste-Ranger" (hehe.. my own little mash-up). Bring on more Diesel. I just adore him, in some ways maybe more than the other two guys. To me he is almost a combo of the two of them. He can be kind of sexy, domestic and regular like Joe, but then he is also tough, mysterious and aloof like Ranger. He's the best of both her worlds.

These last few Plum books have had me wondering though if Stephanie's life would be nearly as interesting if she had a two bedroom apartment instead of just the one bed. Somehow all these hot guys just have to crash with her since they're all to big for the only couch...Dang it!

Stephanie takes on a job that has her having to get couples together for Valentines day. Its quite a struggle with the quirky couples. Then there is Lula and Diesel who are interesting, fun characters. Also Steph' s grandma Mazur , a live wire for her age. It's a fun quick read.

I have forgotten how Janet makes me laugh.

These books are not what I normally read because of the language but the outrageousness of them can't help but make you enjoy them.

Stephanie is teamed up with Diesel (who reminds me of the mascot of the Houston Dynamo) and is dealing with making people have a good Valentine's day as she searches for her new bond assignment.

All your favorite Stephanie Plum characters make an appearance : grandma, Lula, Bob, Rex, Stephanie's mom, dad and sister. Slight mention of Joe and Ranger

Great quick read.

I read about 30 pages of this book and then threw it on the floor. It sucks. I have never read a Janet Evanovich novel before and I picked this one up on impulse at the library the other day. The writing was terrible and the story was horrible...It's only 160 pages so I feel like I gave it a decent shot. I did look at some reviews online and it said this was the worst book she's "written" (I guess there's some controversy as to who actually wrote this one) so maybe I'll try another of her novels sometime.

I’m not sure how I feel about these between the number books. Barely and Joe or Ranger, Diesel is questionable, little action and Stephanie didn’t even blow up a car. She did have a minor crash so I suppose that’s something.

Overall this left me pretty lukewarm. I’ll continue the series because I love the characters.

This was much the same as the first Between the Numbers, but seemed to have more contact with the cannon. Was the sister's wedding cannon like this, or is this some alteration from what was put in the main series? I also disliked (as I disliked these not being more removed from the main series due to the paranormal addition) that in this book Diesel becomes romantic non-interest #3 (and not mentioned in any of the main series books!) - the Stephanie Plum books do not need any more of that.

This is mostly entertaining, but if I'd skipped it, I don't feel like I would've missed a thing. These "between the numbers" books delve into the... paranormal is probably the best word for them. Don't get me wrong, I like Diesel, but Stephanie Plum stepping in for Cupid (or someone with similar skills) doesn't fit the bill. She's a walking train wreck especially when it comes to relationships.

It is entertaining, and Diesel keeps things fun. The two of them teaming up is a bit like her and more playful version of Ranger together. I will admit to liking how Valerie finally gets her man. It's dastardly and amusing.

I listened to the audio book. The narrator is Lorelei King.

I simply love these between the plums books. It's a nice short, easy, yet still mysterious read. Diesel is by far my most favorite part of these books. He is so mysterious, he reveals just enough about himself to make you wonder who...or what he really is, but never enough to answer those questions you wonder about. I also can't help but laugh at how nonchalant Stephanie has become over the many books in this series, about all the men that just seem to come and go in her apartment. They come, they stay, the sleep in her bed, they sort of live with her for a short time, then they go again. Through all that Stephanie now just seems to deem it "normal" for her. I find that hilarious! These books are a great way to tie in a few things to the other books too. There is usually some big event that happens in these short in between books that concludes something from the main books. This time it involved Stephanie's sister Valerie.

This book has Stephanie and Diesel partnering up again. They are trying to figure out a mystery that has caused one of Stephanie's FTA's to go into hiding. This FTA is a big bond and Stephanie has to find her, but only Diesel seems to know how to do that, and he isn't telling Stephanie a darn thing until she helps him solve his mystery too. I can't really give details, as this is a short book with a lot that happens in it and I don't like to be the spoiler. However, this is a great book with a great mystery and many laugh out loud parts to it. One of my favorite laugh out loud parts was when Stephanie sees what her Grandmother has done to her appearance because there was a sale. I could just see it and it made me laugh SO hard!

Cute little Valentine’s story, keeping in tune with each book only being a matter of weeks/short months apart. I’m not entirely sure if we ever learn who/what Diesel is; it’s been MANY years since I read the little novellas.
