This book contained very good instructions for contacting your spirit guide. I use the instructions in this book, every day. If contacting your spirit guide is something you wish to learn more about, you could benefit from reading this book.

I continue to refer to this book, even to this day.

Sylvia Browne was a speaker and medium but I knew her from books. I have sought real and fictional stories of spirits since I was a child. It eases my heart, knowing contact with loved-ones endures. I yearn for scenes of tangible contact, without the limited subtlety that most of us make do with.

This expanded edition with a compact disc of Sylvia’s 2002 book, was the first to get 4 stars because I am less interested in spirit guides. I appreciate knowing they protect, advocate, and advise us; whether or not we notice it. “Contacting Your Spirit Guide: Revised Edition” describes how guides spend their day in the afterlife; insight no religious texts furnish. I love pure, unaffiliated discussions of Heaven. I needed every ounce of support and hope when I read this book. I cuddled in bed with our precious 16 ½ year-old cat Son, Spirit; through stomach cancer. Spirit & Momma shared this book from January 6 to 8. Unfortunately, he ascended on our close, cat gathering bed, on January 14th.

This book did not pertain to loved-ones but taught me a lot I am glad to know. Appealing against harsh losses in the blueprints we drew up for our lives, is possible! I ask friends not to pray for “the greater good”: pray for what we seek! Heaven’s high council members have never been to Earth. They assume returning us to eternity is always agreeable. Guides are humanized, appealing for us to the high council. I hope mine works hard. My Mom preceded Spirit and only 3 weeks ago, our cat Daughter, Marigold, joined them on June 21.

While Marigold lived, this May, we finally played this book’s compact disc. It reinforced what Sylvia wrote and showed me her voice. My grade rose to 5 stars.

I read this book when I began a journey of further exploration of spirituality, faith, and meditation. It was a fun read and the accompanying guided meditation really helped me to focus. I practiced some of this meditation with amazing results. I used the principles in this book as a foundation for my beginning meditation. It's important to apply one's own filter, if you will, to some of the suggestions, but that is important in meditation anyway.

Mostly using this as research for a story I'm working on, but it was an interesting read regardless. This book came into my possession because it belonged to my grandmother, and I found it in her home after she passed away. I don't know why I was inclined to pick it up, but I've had it since 2006 and just now read it. Whatever the belief system may be, I like the idea that we may have a guide we can't see, who never leaves us, and isn't defined by a religious or spiritual dogma.
