Anne Frank is a very good book and I would recommend this to everyone. This story is about two families forced to be secluded from everyone else. In this time the holocaust was occurring, and all the Jews had to hide or get sent to a concentration camp to be sentenced to death. The main character , Anne has a diary and writes down her days inquired. In the diary nothing is happening because they have to stay in a attic above a store. They have to stay hidden for years until the Natis found them.
The worst part of the story was when the natis found all of then and everyone had to just wait until their fate of their lives were in the Natis hands. How they got found in the attic is when someone was trying to burglarize the store and they heard people in the attic. Next thing they knew they heard the natzits at thier door yelling and breaking down the door. When they heard the Natizs they hugged and said their goodbyes for the last time until they get to see each other on the other side. This was the worst part because the scene was so sad and we didn't get to know where they went, what happened to them and if they ever got to see each other again.
I would recommend this book to 7th and 8th graders because this would be a good reading level for them. Why this would be a good book is because this book is intriguing and has a good morel of the story that everyone should follow.

The book Anne Frank is about a little girl who had to live in an attic for two years.Anne Frank was 13 years old when the Franks and Van Daans first started hiding. The family was in hiding because in that time the Naci's didnt want jews around anymore so the Naci's killed the jews.Anne was the youngest child and the youngest living there. The franks include Mr.Frank, Mrs.Frank, Margot, and Anne. The Van Daans include Mr.Van Daan, Mrs.Van Daan, and Peter. The two family's would get the supplies they need by giving a list to Miep Gies and Mr.Kraler.After living in the attic a couple months Mr.Kraler asked Mr.Frank if he had room for one more person. So of course Mr.Frank said yes and that's where Mr.Dussel comes in.Mr. Dussel is a dentist but he cant do his job because he has to go into hiding because he is a jew.At the end of the story The two family's died but Mr.Frank.

The best part of the book in my opinion is when it was new years and Anne and Peter were talking to each other.I really like that part because Anne got to finally talk to a young boy .I also like this part because it explains more about her life and what it was like when she was younger and got to go outside.Anne and Peter have talked before but not the stuff they talked about on new years. After they were done talking Anne was walking out and Peter grab her to stop her then Peter kissed her hand. After that happened Anne was in a happy mood and walked up to Mrs.Van Daan and was telling her she was pretty and kind.

I would tell my friend to read this book because she enjoys reading books like Anne Frank.I would also tell other people that they should read this article because it would make them think about how much life was change. The only way they could communicate with friends or family is if they were with them or they had to send a letter.Back then they didn't have cell phones or computers so it was harder for them to communicate.

Another book I read for school that I forgot to add to GoodReads. I rarely enjoy reading scripts/plays because it's really hard to find substance when you're not actually watching it, but this was very powerful, and it had me enthralled all the way through. I wish we read the actual novel for class, but I did enjoy this!

This text is the play version of The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, a written account of a young girl in the form of a diary (she called "Kitty" and often addresses as such with every diary entry) who successfully, painstakingly hid for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation in what was called the Secret Annex. Along with her family, the Franks, the van Pels also hid in the Secret Annex. I would incorporate this play into a Holocaust unit read in class together with students assigned characters with lines to read in hopes that the story of Anne Frank would come all the more alive even years later. This text would link with my overarching theme of identity by leading students to think about what will remain to still define them when everything external is stripped away in light of a time period like the Holocaust that may impact millions of lives. I would teach the context of the Holocaust first, however, so students better understand the implications of Frank and company's experiences relayed in a more manageable play form. I would lead students into the strategy called "Why Should I Care?" in the second chapter of Kelly Gallagher's Write Like This by having each day begin with a news article or video (at their reading level - from Newsela, for example) that sheds insight on what is occurring in the world today that looks like history repeating itself (ex. North Korea concentration camps) and conclude with making connections between the current event and how Anne Frank and those in the Secret Annex may have experienced the Holocaust in hiding. Essentially, they will be asked to make consider the importance of such topics in their own lives as they are constantly internalizing different factors that help define them whether at school, home, and wherever they are. Students can also make connections within the play between the dialogue spoken of the times in the past (before the Holocaust) and after, in light of what still factors into individual identities as represented in the text.

I think I am supposed to feel more deeply about this book because it is about the hardships that jews had to go through to try (and fail) to survive during the holocaust, and that part is referenced and is really eerie and sad. but what I didnt remember about this book is that yeah, it is also written by a 13 year old girl and 13 year old girls are dramatic and annoying. so, glad I reread it, and understand its historical significance but I kind of had to push my way through the second half while anne went on and on about her brilliant self discovery and the boy upstairs. but what else are you going to write about when you havent left the same four rooms or the same 7 people for two years? I would have lost my fucking mind. Incidentally, I guess I searched the wrong title because I meant to put "The diary of a young girl" by Anne Frank. I did not read the play version listed here.

I loved this book. Being thirteen as well, I could relate to Anne in a lot of ways. I thought that her thoughts that she wrote down were inspiring and very mature for someone my age to say. I only wish she had been alive long enough to finish it. It breaks my heart to know that she will never be able to finish her diary. I've come to figure out that Anne was very thoughtful, and had a lot of time to think. It amazes me how well she knew herself, and was honest with it. What I also like is that she said that she wanted to be remembered even after death, and it did. I mean it wasn't the best way to die, but at least her wish was full filled. It's so sad. I wish I could jump back in time and prevent the whole war from happening, but I think there's some good things that came from it. Like being able to read Anne's diary and imagine how it felt to be in her shoes with close to seven other housemates. I wish I could know her better. Maybe even be her best friend. But yes, I loved it dearly. I encourage my fellow readers and peers to read this. Maybe for a project, or to write a paper on how it was like back when the war was happening. It's also a really good thing to read just to learn history, or to teach it. I think we should continue to teach this so people know what happened and know how not to make us go into another war. I bid you a due, while I go try to find another great book to read. I'll keep you posted.

I loved this book because of the well written format of this book. The story in this theatrical version is told so well that the reader can feel as if they are in the story themselves.

The diary of anne frank is a real diary written by a little Jewish girl who lived in hiding for two years with her family during world war 2.
Moving from a happy childhood to the fearful escape in an attic where her father used to work, because Hitler used to send the jews to concentration camps to die.
The diary was written from anne's heart and she described their lives in the attic, and it showed the emotional development that Anne went through reaching the age 14.

I enjoyed reading the bitter story, and i felt so sorry for anne and for all the 8 members whom their fate ended up by death either by gas, hunger or sickness.

Also, i have learned a lot about the Holocaust.

The story made me grateful for the life i have now, for the simplest joys of life such as having a toilet, being able to see the sun whenever i want and being able to get the proper education.

R.I.P Anne
