These are interesting times and it is easy to focus on our own trials and tribulations,... but let's be fair,... history is filled with comparable events. When I was in Amsterdam at the start of the year, I realised that I hadn't read 'Anne Frank's diary', so I bought it for the train ride home, not realising that quarantine would be one of this year's trending words. Reading about the over two years of hiding that Anne, her family and friends endured really does put things into perspective. Not only is it a historical record of a specific perspective of the second world war, it tells he story of a girl growing into young woman. I recommend it highly.

Text-to-text connection:

This book, oh my gosh. I remember reading it in elementary school and how incredibly amazing it was and still is. This is a great text-to-text connection because this book reminded me of The Hunger Games. Why? Both Character, Anne and Katness are hiding from someone/something. In the last book of The Hunger Games, Katness is hiding from the Capitol just like when Anne and all the other characters are hiding from the Nazis. The only difference is it was real for Anne.
