A wonderfully illustrated Christmas read - The Napping House by the same authors is also beautifully illustrated, but in muted "napping" colors. This book is an explosion of colors.
Little Mouse is all ready for Christmas. When he hears that Big Hungry Bear likes presents, he starts to barricade his little home. Then he learns that the Big Hungry Bear never gets any presents, not even from Santa. Little Mouse has a change of heart and decides to bring his Christmas decorations to the Big Hungry Bear's cave - and gets a present from the bear in return. Heart-warming and fun to read. I look forward to pulling this out again next holiday season.

My niece loves the big hungry bear! This book is a sweet reminder for her to always be giving.
