It is probably the only book on speaking that you will have to read. Why is that? It is because if you learn what is inside and practice it, you will be in the top 1-5% of speakers. Vast majority of us do not need more at work or home to make the impact we are looking to make.

Carnegie does not only cover public speaking, but also effective communication. He is a master of reminding us the simple principles that somehow manage to escape us as we go about and operate on an autopilot.

MR. OBVIOUS

È il secondo libro di Dale Carnegie che leggo e che trovo quasi inutile. O meglio, troppo generalista, troppo ovvio. Smetterò di prendere in considerazione i suoi saggi, perché sembrano tutti ripetere gli stessi concetti senza un approfondimento adeguato.

Consiglio: Presta attenzione al linguaggio del corpo dell'interlocutore, rivela molto di lui. Tutto qui, ora passiamo al prossimo consiglio: ascolta ciò che ti viene detto! Ma Dale, che cosa ne so io del linguaggio del corpo? Dammi due linee guida, non buttare lì le cose per lasciarle appese!

Questo modo di scrivere abbassa il livello del lettore fino a renderlo un bambino. Dopo di che gli spiega la vita come se gli rivelasse il Santo Graal con consigli del tipo, non scrivere cose compromettenti nelle mail aziendali, perché poi restano tracce e sei ricattabile. Mmm okay!
