Her language is subtle and mysterious, I believe there are so many private secrets hidden behind those words. I read this story 5 or 6 times, I can’t say I understand. All I could say is that I really enjoyed experiencing the world she created, which is surrounded by a light but blur smog. It’s so charming but so strange.

Duras wanted to write a story free of style that can be read in various ways. Her effort was admirable, but the result made my eyes glaze over. Hiroshima Mon Amour was a much better read.
