This was such a fun book to do for Book Babies! The parents and caregivers requested that we do it again (even though we do books two weeks in a row--they wanted to make sure I knew they liked it!). Before starting, I told the grown ups to let their babies practice opening the flaps and that it was absolutely alright if any of the pages tore. Babies learn by exploring, and it is so important to let them explore with books! Peek-a-boo is a popular game with these babies, so they knew the concept very well. Every time we opened a flap, we would make the animal noises. As an aside, I told the grown ups that making animal noises was a great way for babies to learn and play with different sounds which is very important when they are learning how to talk and later when they are learning how to read.
This is a super cute book that I think children would love. The only thing preventing me from buying this for my grandchildren is that is is not sturdy enough for of lot of use.
Nice illustrations. El would probably like this one if we read it a few times - she usually likes peek-a-boo type books, but the craziness of story time distracted her today.
