Superba aventura, din nou. Un personaj misterios, Cain, indeplineste dorinte pt un pret mare, mult prea mare. Personajele sunt bine conturate, puternice. Excelent mister.

El príncipe de la niebla es una conocidísima y famosísima novela de Carlos Ruíz Zafón, premiada por el Premio Edebé Literatura Juvenil en 1993. Es una de las típicas lecturas obligatorias de instituto y que tenía muchísimas ganas de leer por su fama. Tengo que decir que la he leído en una tarde y que, aunque me ha gustado bastante, esperaba algo más.
Empezaré diciendo que evidentemente esta novela es para lectores jóvenes, de entre diez y trece años. Es una novela muy sencilla, con una prosa más sencilla aún y con una historia bien elaborada pero contada de forma simple. Y no es nada negativo, porque está dirigida a un público determinado. Pero a mí como eso me daba bastante igual, la cogí y me puse a leerla.
Me gusta mucho la prosa de Zafón, es bonita, utiliza un vocabulario cuidado y también me gusta cómo nos narra sus historias. En este caso de una forma más infantil, pero aún así con los toques de su autor.
La trama me ha gustado bastante, sobre todo el final y desenlace de la misma, pues no me lo esperaba para nada. Sin embargo, en el desarrollo de la trama han habido cosas que no me han convencido. Había muchas escenas de relleno y a veces el autor se salía un poco de la línea de la trama y me aburría.
Me ha gustado mucho la originalidad de la historia. Que sea realista, con sus pequeños toques fantásticos, y su toque oscuro que rodea a cierto personaje. También hay un áurea de misterio que me ha gustado y que me ha convencido.
En general ha sido una novela que me ha gustado bastante, que obviamente no he disfrutado como si tuviera doce años, pero que me ha gustado y me ha hecho pasar un buen rato.
Muy recomendable si tienes entre diez y trece años, te va a gustar y te va a enganchar mucho.

این مجموعه داستانی سه جلدی اولین اثر نویسنده بوده در سال 1992 و بعد از موفقیت چشمگیری که مجموعه سایه باد بدست آورد، نویسنده تصمیم به ارائه این کار میگیره .
در مقام مقایسه با سایه باد و مارینا کمی ضعیفه اما در کل اگر از نوشته های سافون لذت ببرید خواندن این اثرش هم خالی از لطف نیست
امضای فضای گوتیک در داستان مثل سایر آثار نویسنده همچنان در اثر به چشم میخوره
اینکه سه ستاره به این اثر دادم شاید به خاطر نوع کتاب بود که بر اساس گفته نویسنده در مقدمه بیشتر برای نوجوانان نوشته شده بود تا بزرگسال ، اما به هیچ وجه اثر ضعیفی نبود و در آینده قصد دارم دو جلد باقیمانده از این مجموعه رو هم حتما بخونم .

The latest of Carlos Ruiz Zafón's works to be translated into English is also the first book the author had published. It was originally intended for teenagers, but this edition is clearly being marketed towards the author's adult fans; it has the same cover design as his adult titles, and a preface explains that it is designed to be enjoyed by readers of any age. I didn't go into this with high expectations, and I expected it to be kind of immature, but I still found it very disappointing.

The story begins promisingly. A young boy, Max, moves with his family from the city to a seaside town. He quickly learns that the previous owners of his new home were dogged by tragedy, and on top of that, he finds a sinister walled garden full of statues in its grounds. He's particularly spooked by a clown statue, and during his exploration of the garden, he notices that this figure appears to have moved slightly since his arrival, changing its pose to a beckoning gesture. (Great detail - would have scared me as a child.) He then befriends a local boy called Roland, who takes him diving around the wreck of a sunken ship; and from Roland's grandfather, the only survivor of the shipwreck, Max learns the story of the nefarious Cain, the Prince of Mist. The stage is set for a chilling tale about a ghost ship, a powerful villain, mysterious disappearances and so on - technically, this should make a fantastic spooky story.

However, the book soon begins to get quite silly and more and more plot holes and unanswered questions pop up, until it all becomes totally unbelievable and rather boring. For instance... Who or what is Cain and how has he attained his power? How do he and his troupe turn themselves into statues and why is this the only way for them to survive the sinking of their ship? Is Cain's cat meant to be a manifestation of him, and if so, how can he also be the statue, and if not, how did it alone survive the disaster intact? (The whole 'evil cat' thing is such a boring cliché anyway, and really put me off from the start.) If 'Jacob' was old enough to be filming with a video camera alone prior to his change of identity, how on earth can he not remember anything before his parents' death? I KNOW you can't expect a young adult book to explain everything exhaustively, but when I think of the detail and care so obviously put into the better examples of children's literature I can call to mind, that isn't really an excuse for the plot to be SO underdeveloped.

The other thing that really grated was the indeterminate sense of time and place, which was confusing as I couldn't see any reason why the story shouldn't be definitively set in a real country, at least. I don't know if details have been changed here to make the story more easy to relate to for English-language readers; if so, this was a mistake. Finally, there's also the fact that the adult characters are constantly referred to by their full names - don't ask me why, but this is one of my biggest pet hates when reading. I'm still interested in the author's work and will probably read any further adult novels translated into English, mainly on the strength of The Angel's Game. But I will be giving his YA fiction - a category I believe the forthcoming Midnight Palace falls into - a miss.

هناك أسماء ما إن أراها على أغلفة كتب لم أقرأها بَعد حتى أشعر بمزيج لاذع من الشغف والحنين والحزن والحماس في آن واحد، خاصة إذا كان الكاتب رحل عن دنيانا بنذرٍ يسير من الأعمال التي وصلت إلينا قبل وفاته، وبالنسبة لي فإن كارلوس زافون على رأس قائمة تلك الأسماء، زافون.. أحد أهم كتّابي المفضلين الذي غادر مبكراً قبل أن نرتوي من فيض عبقريته وقلمه الساحر، وصاحب الفضل في عثوري على روايتي الأثيرة التي لا أحب رواية بقدرها ولم ولن تأخذ رواية محلها في قلبي أبداً.. معزوفة "ظل الريح" الخالدة، الجزء الأول لرائعته رباعية مقبرة الكتب المنسية.

منذ رأيت ترجمة "أمير الضباب" فور صدورها وضعتها على قائمتي خاصة بعد تجربة لم تكن على قدر التوقعات في المجموعة القصصية "مدينة من بخار"، أعلم أن كافة أعمال زافون التي سوف تتم ترجمتها بعد وفاته لن تكون مثل سلسلة مقبرة الكتب المنسية ولن تقترب منها حتى، ولكني لا أستطيع مهما فعلت أن أتمالك نفسي عندما أرى اسمه على كتاب تمت ترجمته حديثاً.

n  ❞ كان شبح الحرب يخيِّمُ على المستقبل بعباءة الظلام حتّى خلال نهارٍ مشمس كهذا.‏ ❝n

حسناً، جاء وقت اللقاء مع أمير الضباب يوماً ما، يوماً لم يكن الضباب والغيم مُعششاً فيه في الجو أو السماء وإنما في القلب والروح، يوماً صيفياً حاراً برطوبة عالية وأنفاس وصدور تضيق من فرط التعب ومن فرط الكَرب أيضاً، يوماً ضبابياً بكل معنى الكلمة، رغم سطوع الشمس الحارقة.

n  ❞ كان ذلك الأثر بمثابة جرحٍ داكنٍ لا قرار له مشروخًا بمخالب صخريّة حادّة ❝n

كما هو مكتوب في الوصف وفي المقدمة.. فإن تصنيف الرواية هو رواية لليافعين بدأ بها زافون سلسلة من مجموعة روايات أخرى، يقول الراحل أنه كتب أمير الضباب في عمر السادسة أو السابعة والعشرين تقريباً وكانت أول رواية كتبها في حياته وعندما فكر في كتابتها فكر في الرواية التي كان يتمنى لو قرأها هو بعمر الثالثة أو الرابعة عشر، وبذائقته التي يفضلها، مزيج الرعب والغموض والماورائيات والحرب والحب وخلافه في قالب إنساني من الطراز الأول، وهكذا جاءت، رواية كان الضباب فيها بشكلٍ ما هو البطل.

n  ❞ وعندما تمطر بقوّة، يشعر ماكس أنّ الزمن يتوقّف. كما لو أنّها هدنةٌ نتوقَّف فيها عن فعل أيّ شيء لمجرّد التأمُّل من إحدى النوافذ في مشهد الستارة اللامتناهية من دموع السماء لساعاتٍ وساعات ❝n

أسرة لأب يعمل ساعاتي قرر الرحيل بأسرته بسبب الحرب إلى بيت جديد على أحد الشواطئ لحين انتهاء الفترة العصيبة، يرحل ماكسيمان مع زوجته وابنته الشابة أليسيا وابنته الطفلة إيرينا وابنه المراهق ماكس لتبدأ رحلة زاخرة بالأهوال تعيشها الأسرة وخاصة أليسيا وماكس، يلتقي الابن ماكس بصديق جديد من نفس عمره تقريباً على الجزيرة هو رولاند، حفيد وحيد بالتبني لـ جد رباه بعد مقتل والديه في حادث سير.

ينغمس الجميع دون إرادتهم في مغامرة سوداوية قاتمة تقلب حياتهم رأساً على عقب محولة إياها إلى جحيم، سلسلة من الأحداث العاصفة والغامضة يجد الكل أنفسهم بين مخالبها، غابة من الألغاز تتشكل حول كل شئ..

منارة يحرسها العجوز جد رولاند، كوخ على الشاطئ، حطام سفينة غارقة، حديقة تماثيل مهجورة كئيبة تبعث الرعدة والشؤم في النفس، بيت قديم لطبيب مشهور رحل عن الدنيا، أشرطة ڤيديو مهملة في مرآب البيت تعرض أفلاما ً غامضة، قط بغيض لا يعلم أحد من أين جاء، وساحر بفرقة سيرك ملعونة يجوب الأرض لهواً.. أو فساداً، قابيلٌ هو، فهل كان لاختيار الاسم من إسقاطٍ واضح؟!

وسط أجواء ضبابية عاصفة سوداوية تلتقي الخيوط وتتكشف الحقائق وينقشع الضباب عنها شيئاً فشيئاً مع تعاقب فصول الرواية وتواليها دون ملل في تشابك الماضي مع الحاضر للبحث عن سبب كل هذه اللعنات والسر الكامن وراءها.

n  ❞ كان يشعر، للمرّة الأولى في حياته، أنّ الزمن يمضي أسرع ممّا يريد، وأنّه لم يعد بإمكانه اللجوء إلى حلم الأعوام المنقضية. لقد بدأت عجلة الحظّ بالدوران، ولم يكن بيده هو رمي النرد هذه المرّة.‏ ❝n

بالتأكيد لا يجب الحكم على الرواية بمقارنتها بأي من أعمال زافون الأخرى فهي ابنته البكرية كما يقول والتي كتبها صغيراً في مَطلع حياته الأدبية لذا يجب أخذ هذا في الاعتبار، ولكن.. ولمَ أخفي؟ لقد استمتعت بها وأحببتها أكثر من "مدينة من بخار" بمراحل، لمسة زافون الساحرة لا تجعل من العمل المُصنف رعب تقليدياً وإنما خلطة عجائبية غرائبية فريدة، تلك اللمسة أضفت على الرواية طابعاً مميزاً يجيده هو ببراعة، طابعاً ذكرني كثيراً بالجزء الثاني من الرباعية "لعبة الملاك" خاصة في السوداوية والقتامة والمغامرة، وشخصية قابيل التي تشبه في بعض الجوانب شيطان الرباعية الأشهر "آندرياس كوريللي".

n  ❞ فمهما بلغ سوء ما وقع، كان يعلم أنّ الحياة نادرًا ما تسمح لنا أن ندرك الأمور من دون ضرورة إلى الكلام أو شرح الأسباب ❝n

بالطبع لا أحتاج للحديث عن جمال وصف زافون للأماكن والأجواء في كتاباته وصفاً يجعلك تعيش مع الأبطال رغماً عنك، أحببت شخصية العجوز حارس المنارة وشخصية حفيده رولاند وأيضاً أليسيا وماكس، ذكرني ماكس في مواضع كثيرة بـ "دانيال سيمبري" لا سيما في الفضول والشجاعة والبحث وراء المتاعب، وذكرني رولاند البائس بالعزيز جداً "دايڤيد مارتن" لا سيما في البؤس وسوء الحظ وإيجاد نفسه مُقحماً في أهوال لا يعرف لها سبباً ولا يجد منها مخرجاً.

ما لم يعجبني صراحةً هو النهاية التي لم تكن متناسبة أو منطقية مع مجرى سير الأحداث خاصة في آخر فصل، لم أفهم سبباً لأن يحدث هذا وتكون هذه هي الخاتمة ووجدتها قاسية جداً على رواية يافعين، ولكنها عادة زافون الذي يعشق أن "ينكّد على القارئ" دوماً في نهايات كتبه :))))
تقييمي للرواية نفسها 3 نجوم، والنجمة الرابعة من أجل اسم كارلوس زافون.

n  ❞ هذا مشوارٌ ينبغي لكلّ واحدٍ منّا أن يتعلّم السير فيه بمفرده، وأن يرجو اللّه أن يعينه كي لا يتوه قبل الوصول إلى نقطة النهاية.. لو كان لجميعنا في مستهلّ حياتنا القدرة على إدراك هذا الأمر الذي يبدو بسيطًا، لما وُجِدَ جزءٌ كبيرٌ من مآسي الدنيا وعذاباتها، ولكنّ هذه من إحدى مفارقات الكون العظيمة: لا تُمنَح لنا هذه النعمة إلاّ بعد فوات الأوان! نهاية الدرس.‏ ❝n

Prva Safonova knjiga koju sam pročitala i imam samo reči hvale za nju. Iako je pre svega namenjena, kako sam pisac kaže, tinejdžerima, nema nikakvog tinejdžerskog preispitivanja, spasavanja sveta ili ljubavnih mnogouglova. U pitanju je gotik roman smešten u vreme Drugog svetskog rata, kada porodica trinaestogodišnjeg Maksa beži pred užasima rata u malo primorsko mesto. Mesto obavijeno maglom i misterijom. Iako naizgled već mnogo puta viđena priča, Safon ju je ispričao veoma lepim i jednostavnim stilom, koji prosto mami na čitanje još jedne stranice, pa još jedne...

The Prince of Mist is book 1 in a series for young adults by the amazingly talented author of The Cemetery of Forgotten Books. This story would appeal to fans of Zafon as well as fans of Stephen King’s IT. There are some minor similarities between the two. A brother and sister form a trio with a new found friend, battle against an ancient entity that has managed to manifest itself (one manifestation is a clown). The Prince of Mist has survived by making deals with humans longing for a wish to come true.

It is a straight forward story, but there are a few twists and turns. I enjoyed the back story and how everything came together. There was one thing I didn’t see coming, but some readers may be able to. There is nothing that hasn’t been done before, but I absolutely see the appeal for teens and adults alike.
