This was my first cookbook really, as I never cooked much at all prior to my 40th birthday. I was inspired to give cooking a chance more out of necessity than desire as our financial state was altered when my husband was injured. That was more than 10 years ago. Since that time I’ve obtained a bachelor’s in culinary and restaurant management and a masters in education—and STILL I go back to this book for some of my favorite dishes regularly. I have purchased many cookbooks since that time, but for taste and ease of preparation, this is still ranked my top choice.

I owe my culinary start to the Food Network and Rachael Ray's "30 Minute Meals." Yum-o!

Don’t try to eat every single meal in this book in one sitting… trust me.

I hate that I love Rachel Ray so much (see my comment about being stubborn and contrary in the Blue like Jazz review) but I do. This is the only book of hers I've used a ton, but I've used it a TON. I love that it has a whole meal planned out in each recipe, so you don't have to think about side dishes and stuff like that. These meals are sooo fun to make and to eat, and they really are pretty easy. I just can never really get them done in 30 minutes. It's more like 30x2 minute meals.

Not a fan of cookbooks without pictures. Plus, as with all of the other cookbooks of hers that I've read, it seems like she just randomly throws ingredients together to create a new recipe. Having said that, the book that came out for her 50th birthday was fantastic.

This was a good book, but thr the print was a little small to enjoy it.
