Welcome to Trenton, New Jersey, where bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's life is about to implode in Janet Evanovich's wildest, hottest novel yet !
FIRST A STRANGER APPEARS

While chasing down the usual cast of miscreants and weirdos Stephanie discovers that a crazed woman is stalking her.
THEN THE STRANGER REVEALS HER SECRETS

The woman dresses in black, carries a 9mm Glock, and has a bad attitude and a mysterious connection to dark and dangerous Carlos Manoso …street name, Ranger.
NEXT, SOMEBODY DIES

The action turns deadly serious, and Stephanie goes from hunting skips to hunting a murderer.
SOON, THE CHASE IS ON

Ranger needs Stephanie for more reasons than he can say. And now, the two are working together to find a killer, rescue a missing child, and stop a lunatic from raising the body count. When Stephanie Plum and Ranger get too close for comfort, vice cop Joe Morelli (her on-again, off-again boyfriend) steps in.
Will the ticking clock stop at the stroke of twelve, or will a stranger in the wind find a way to stop Stephanie Plum…forever? Filled with Janet Evanovich's trademark action, nonstop adventure, and sharp humor, Twelve Sharp shows why her novels have been called "hot stuff" ( The New York Times ), and Evanovich herself "the master" ( San Francisco Examiner ).

If the crazies and weirdo Stephanie Plum is chasing to have them rebooked into the system after they missed their court date aren't enough; now, there is a stranger in town and she is stalking Stephanie.

The stranger claims to be the wife of Carlos, Manoso, AKA Ranger, and she's betting Stephanie will lead her to her husband. Ranger married? What is going on here?

While Stephanie tries to wrap her brain around that piece of information, she learns that Ranger is wanted in the kidnapping of his daughter. Ranger may not be one of the good guys, but he is a good, bad guy. Kidnapping just does not fit in with the Ranger Stephanie knows.

When Ranger contacts Stephanie for help, she learns the truth, now she is acting as both Ranger's sidekick and bait for a trap to catch the man impersonating him.

Is this really something Stephanie can pull off?

I had really mixed opinions about this one. In terms of the series, I really enjoyed this book, it was one of my favourites to date. However, I had some real issues with some things that happened in this series so couldn't rate it higher than 3 stars.

So Ranger, who is a total bad ass and has so many connections, needs Stephanie's help more than any others to get him out of this situation? I just didn't buy it.

My major issue though was with Ranger getting into Stephanie's bed without her permission after he said he wouldn't and him also stating at another point in the book that he would be fine with 'partial consent'. Really not okay with this.

I really didn't like that Evanovich teases us with the possibility of the love triangle being resolved in this book and then it just not happening. After 12 books I think it's time to put this love triangle to bed... so to speak.

At first I was pretty disappointed in Twelve Sharp because it wasn't hilarious. All of the other Stephanie Plum novels were super funny.

I gave book #12 5 stars because of the following:
1. Stephanie used some of her Bounty Hunter woman power. She didn't seem so helpless and kicked a little butt.
2. We actually learn some interesting facts about Ranger. YAAYY!
3. Stephanie tells a certain someone she LOVES him, not just l-l-likes him ; )
4. An important character gets severly hurt, which usually never happens. Tons of people have died in previous books, but usually the main characters get away pretty well off. Which in't to say I was happy about that person hurt, it just made the story a whole lot better.

Love Stephanie and her always challenging life. I really enjoyed this particular book. i thought it handled her situation differently than other books. It felt like the threat was very credible and I was thinking there might be a chance a major character might be eliminated. I liked this one a lot.

Stephanie seems to be getting better at the bounty hunter thing, but still has enough issues to make her takedowns humorous. She actually kicks in a couple doors. I do kind of wish she would learn how to pick locks though. All the usual folks are here also to add to the fun and a few new ones show up.

Janet Evanovich uses this book to flesh out the Ranger character. He's not just a batman like personality that simply pops up when he's needed. I definitely enjoyed that part of the novel.

Poor Stephanie has a problem now. She realizes that she actually loves both Joe and Ranger, she's not just in lust. Oh, to have such a dilemma.

I still love the series. The books are cute, funny, and light. As long as the books keep coming, I'll keep reading.

I can't understand the obsession with fashion in these books. I also can't get past the some of the characterization of certain characters that seem to fall into racial stereotypes.

The ending of this was certainly much better than Eleven on Top but I'm still very much done with the love-triangle. And Ranger is starting to piss me off because he does a lot of nonconsensual stuff. Also, did we just completely forget except for the briefest mention at the very end of the book that Stephanie quite being a bounty hunter in the last book?
