Again the pace picks up. This review will be a super short one because I do not have a lot to add.

It was a lot of fun. I could not put it down. Of course, it wasn't perfect. Intrigue could have been a bit higher, the twist at the end lost me a bit (so I guess I'll have to read vol. 5 to understand it), but overall, it was a bunch of fun.

I love the dynamic that Misa introduces to the story. I love the way Light tries to out-maneuver L in the end. I love the will they/won't they situation with L's name. I also really liked how the Shinigami mythos is once again expanded.

I have honestly no clue in what direction the next volume will go in...
I miss Ryuk already.

Sidenote - this was published on my 1st bday !!

Still a good installment to the Death Note series but I can't say I was as enamored with this volume as I saw with the previous three. The plot still surprised me at every turn and remained as action-packed as ever but the addition of the character Misa was a let-down for me. I was hoping for some bad-ass girl power but what I received was a submissive girl who falls in love at first sight and is displayed in an entirely sexual nature. She also showed up previously unseen flaws in Light's own character that made my alignment with his cause dwindle a little. He was dismissive, uncaring for her feelings and quickly wrote her off as an 'idiot'. I have been entirely behind his immoral cause, as is underlying ideals were just, but it seems now that he willing to sacrifice and use innocents and get rid of any minor inconvenience in any way necessary, even if they share the same ethics and principles.

The only other female characters in this series have been fleeting and I feel it does females everywhere injustice that this is the only real representative for our gender. The plot, as I mentioned, was as thrilling as ever but I just could not get past this unfair female representation. I am still excited to continue with the series but I can only hope that it does not contain more of the same misogynistic ideologies!

To be continue, дет се вика на български.

I didn't like this one as much as the first 3 but it's still freaking awesome! ❤️

Back to action! A lot happens in this volume and some of it had me very concerned - I couldn't put it down. I'm starting to get overwhelmed by all of the death note "rules" that keep coming up, but it's a minor thing. I really liked the new shinigami - Rem, who is very different from Ryuk. However, the reckless Misa (we got a glimpse of her in the previous book along with Rem) bothers me: she is supposed to be 20 and yet she acts like a 5-year-old. The series could really use a strong female character and Misa is a missed opportunity. Still, this volume was a lot of fun for me to read!

4.5 stars - Spoilers

Loved it. Misa was by far the best character — sure she was idiotic and desperate but I found her entertaining as hell. I was initially confused with her devotion to Light/Kira, but I was glad there was a plausible reason for her being so devoted to him.
I liked Misa's Shinigami (Ram)… His protectiveness was really sweet. Light will no doubt use and abuse Misa so I'm pleased she has someone on her side. I loved that Ram threatened Light if Misa died. It's more fun to read when Light has a lot of obstacles in his way, if he got away with everything, it would be really boring and cliched.
Light and L's antagonistic and one-upmanship relationship was still enjoyable. They're so similar in their intelligence and reasoning — its great seeing them trying to keep up with each other.
I have a feeling that L will die… There's something tragic about him. I just hope Light dies too.
Looking forward to Volume 5.

Rarely does a manga get so good and my god this one is amazing!

We have the introduction of Misa Amane, the second death note holder and we find her origins and motives here and how she kills people and the investigation with the second kira continues and I love the face off between L and Light and then the whole exposition of her to Light and what happens to it and how Light handles this unexpected component and its a massive twist at every turn and rarely does a manga maintain the thrill component and we see it here and those last few pages OMG the twist is such that it flips the entire series on its head!

Its an amazing volume and it does get better here an dI love the characteres and exploration and the twists and sure it does change the status quo but its for the good as its just perfect and also the art is just too good here!
