I read this as a recommendation from a coworker. I rolled my eyes the whole time. There are a few pieces of information here that could maybe help someone. It feels like a lot of religious guilt. There is nothing backed in science and the few facts are taken from books written by scientists and medical professionals.

If you find yourself struggling with emotions from childhood trauma. I would reach out to a medical professional if you cant afford therapy, every one should there is sliding scale rates, they can recommend a book that might actually help you.

I loved this book! I love that it shows us that our thoughts and feelings are important and that they affect our body. I love the feelings index that shows us how to change negative feelings to positive feelings. I love the index of medical conditions that shows us what some of the underlining emotional reasons might be for our medical conditions. I love the section on money and with suggestions on how we can get rid of our self-defeating money thoughts & attitudes that may be stopping us from making the income we want.

It’s filled with pseudo science, and the usual self help positive thinking narrative. On the other hand if you’re able to jump or ignore those parts you’ll find some really nice angles to look to your life and better understand the relation between past experiences thoughts feelings and emotions and your current behavior.

Forget about taking it with a grain of salt

I haven't finished this yet, but it's full of things that are speaking to me now. It's taken me a long time to read it because I had to digest it a piece at a time. It's starting to come together for me. At least the pieces I need to worry about right now.

This was harder to read at the beginning than at the end. Of course, it was published by a small publisher, so the editing is less than stellar. I know people for whom I don't believe the only cause of their illness was emotional baggage. Although, I do believe that many illnesses can be improved and even cured by dealing with our own emotional "stuff". I want to keep a copy on my nightstand to "work-through" things as I see the need. The script felt a little stiff at first an maybe even a little goofy. However as I tried to make it "fit" me more, I became more comfortable with it as it was written...at least most of the time. It has already changed how I do things. I have also hit on some things that I knew were under the surface and waiting for the right time.

I like this book as most psycho-babble requires you to blame much of your problems on your upbringing. This allows you to heal regardless of when (even intergenerational) the pain happened and allows you to take responsibility for your feelings and emotions.

This book was terrible. Almost entirely anecdotal, she purports that repeating her "script" can cure cancer and alter your parents' DNA. I am seriously questioning the sanity of the person who recommend I read this mind numbing drivel.
..... and I like just about every book I read.

What ever you do, don’t do this book on audible! The voice was so robotic that Alexa would have done a better job reading it. Also there were at least 6 chapters where the content was just a bunch of lists so was a nightmare to listen through!

Interesting concepts but I have read far better books where there have been pdf downloads for these kinda things or the content was more than just one technique to ‘fix’ everything.

To be honest, the only reason I bothered finishing it is because I have to write a book report on it for a course, otherwise I wouldn’t have made it through chapter one

Life Changing. Didn't read page by page but skimmed and read the things focused on me. If you use this book with Energy Healing it is amazing and life changing. (less)

A friend gave me this book back in the 1990s and it helped me identify and sort through emotions during a particularly rough spot and CBT. Now, I like the book for all its emotional knowledge (great for character development). And the script is still a handy tool to reframe how emotions might be impacting me.

This book taught me the value of properly managing emotions. It easy to understand and provides practical tips that I have found relevant for many years in many different situations. I was introduced to this book in 1999 because I had constant migraines, back aches, insomnia and breathing problems. I had been working in an extremely stressful job for six years and suspected that my ailments were largely stress induced. This book helped me not only overcome my physical conditions but also to improve my relationships with relatives and build the confidence to find a new job (with higher pay and growth opportunity). I continue to use what I learned from this book and my health, career and family life are all better for it. I am healthier now in my 40s than I was in my 20s, have had multiple promotions/raises and currently work at a job I love with great co-workers and employers.

There is so much in this book that made sense and even turned on "light bulbs" while I read it. Very good read!

I just did not like this book. I agree with the notion that our feelings influence our thoughts and vise versa (and, in fact, influence our health), but I do not believe that cancer and other serious illnesses are caused by some sort of repressed feelings or traumatic experiences from our experience at birth.

My favorite part about this book is the index which has lists of physical ailments and their emotional causes. In this book is a script you can use to assist you in releasing negative emotions you've been holding on to that are no longer serving you for good.
