This book is amazing. The message is universal and it speaks to each of us differently.
Recommend it for anyone who is ready to receive its message.

I've been giving it to close friends to read, who I think would get something from it.

Pretty nice read. It contains an interesting story, with a lot of uplifting information and details about the intricacies of what Dan Millman calls "The 3 selves": the Basic Self, the Conscious Self and the Higher Self. These concepts can be mapped to similar ideas from different philosophies and teachings, most notably the concept of energetic centers or chakras known in eastern schools.

If you loved the stories about Socrates from the first book and was left wanting for more, as it happened to me, this book unfortunately has very little in that department. But instead, another enthralling figure shows up: Mama Chia, which takes the role of Dan's Master in this story, with her unique voice and methods.

Being the second book in a saga, you probably know that "Way of the peaceful warrior" should be read first, and if you have, you will probably find this a sequel worth of your time (although it's not a sequel in the chronological sense, as this book explains in its first pages). I know I did enjoy it and was left hooked for the third book in the saga: The Hidden School.

An interesting continuation of the peaceful warrior story, blending fact and fiction. I found the second half of the book more engaging than the first as it increasingly touched upon archetypes of spiritual awakening and growth in interesting and meaningful ways.

Dan Millman is an incredible author with an incredible message. The book, even though it is apparently fictionalized to a large extent, taps into some very real human emotions and connections, leaving the reader to reach their own conclusions about the message within. Because of how it's written in narrative form, the lessons are experienced rather than memorized and in that way resonate more with how I personally operate.

The subject matter is largely focused on the chakras and how they can be opened and enhanced through practice and awareness. the book also builds on the idea that there is a larger truth that becomes clear at higher levels of "the tower" and makes this reader excited to build.

I think, because some things aren't explicitly mentioned, that the message will vary from person to person. The information that is gleaned and retained will certainly change depending on who you ask but in all forms it is positive and encourage.

I'd recommend it to anyone I know!

Not as good as the first Peaceful Warrior. It has some solid moments, but it didn’t quite hit the mark I was hoping for.

Well worth a reread. An adventure to Hawai'i meeting an enigmatic female shaman.

It's not a perfect book. It was, however, just what I needed, just when I needed it.

Dan writes beautifully, and the Sacred Journey is my favorites of his, but all are great and I recommend any of his books to those who make a point to be inspired by what life has to give. New points of view allow for a change of heart and magnificent array of wonderment for the potential arena of humanity.
