This book is a little silly. not just because animals are reading but also because the librarian was able to adjacently drive into a zoo. I don't buy it, but other than that i love this book. The illustrations are fabulous and just add so much to the story. I would Recommend it for a fun read book.
Cute book. The kids read this book several times, laughing at some of the "poetry" on one page and the idea of animals reading books throughout, but overall pretty bland. A good way to keep up reading skills, but not a stupendous book by any means.
H like this part... "the pandas demanded more books in Chinese, Molly filled their requests, always eager to please..." fun book about bringing books to zoo animals who like to read.
The rhyming text rollicks right along, as the animals learn to love to read, to tell stories, to write, and then to build and manage a branch library of their own! I particularly liked the treasure hunt of the different titles, for example Big Bad Bruce and We're Going on a Bear Hunt. And the insects' haikus (with the critiques by the scorpion) are fabulous!
This is a cute book about how a librarian accidentally brings books to the zoo. The animals all love the books. This rhyming story has lots of interesting animals. Love Marc Brown's illustrations.
I didn't like this book very much but I see that it had a good point about how everyone likes different books and everyone is at their own level in reading and writing. This was represented by each and every one of the animals being unique in that they all liked different books and each of them was at a different level. This can teach kids to choose what they like and to not be discouraged if others dont like the same things or if others are at a more accelerated level of reading and writing.
Wild About Books demonstrates the power of stories and the vast momentum they utilize to intensify and develop relationships no matter the circumstances. Via the characters’ – animals, in this case – positive experiences with reading, I got the clear impression that the moral of the story was that books bring people together. The plot was very easy to follow, and the numerous puns amongst the countless other plays-on-words really draw the reader in. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it was fun to read due to the ironic diction and enticing rhyme schemes. I also enjoyed the references to outside authors, novels, etc. that made the story that much more relatable. The illustrations were vivid and followed the pattern of the writing perfectly; additionally, the distorted shapes of the animals to match their attitudes was very useful to determine the tone of the author, as well as the situation. Overall this creation of this book was very well executed and I applaud the creators.
This is a fun book with a catchy rhyming beat about a bookmobile visiting a zoo. The illustrations are nice, though they left the tear lines off the cheetah.
I used it as a read-aloud with my classes, and recommend pointing out each animal as you go. (Few little ones know what a skink is, for example.) There's a portion of the book where the librarian gently reminds the animals about how to treat books, which I used for my lesson.

I loved how this book is a rhyming book. It really encourages the importance of reading to everyone. In the classroom this book can be used to encourage students to find books that interest them.
