When I first read the synopsis of this book, was not sure I would like it. Very different from her thrillers and FBI book; I especially love Savich and Sherlock. However, I very much enjoyed this. I never watched soap operas but my Mother really enjoyed them. The little tidbit/piece of trivia at the beginning of each chapter was interesting. A great quick read and keeps your interest throughout.

Mary Lisa is an actress who has a starring role in a daytime soap. Someone is trying to kill her in real life. A real good who done it with a little love thrown in.

Amusing; light-weight summer reading type of book about 3 women living in LA area. Poorly edited.

I sometimes wonder if I expect too much from books. The problem is that when I finished this one, I didn't feel anything. Nothing. No regret that there wasn't more, no sigh of contentment because it was a fulfilling ride, not even a sigh of relief that the whole thing was over.

It had no impact on me whatsoever.

Catherine Coulter seems to equate quirkiness with actual character development and she likes to bring in characters that have absolutely nothing to do but take up space. I don't believe half of the characters she wrote in this book actually needed to be there.

And most of them weren't even a fun little side interlude, distracting from the main story. They were annoying and petty characters and I'm fairly certain if they were real people in my life, I would have short-sheeted each and every one of their beds OR placed gross things in their beds, tucked between their covers and bedsheets.

... because I'm 8. I don't know; I'm trying to be more polite as I age.

And how is it fictional characters always feel it's a good idea to become detectives when there are actual police involved, trying to solve the mystery of why someone is trying to kill them? Do they also feel the need to become dentists when their teeth hurt? And then they get huffy when real police don't want their help.

Because you know, the police are always going to soap opera stars in order to solve cases of murder and/or stalking. It's practically protocol.

She just ... I know I said this in my last review, but she uses too many words and if I believe Nora Roberts tends to make her male characters a bit too... flowery in their wording, Catherine Coulter makes them utterly feminine.

If someone reads this who is a huge fan, please, please, please point me to your favourite novel. I can't promise to like it but I promise to read it. You, however, may not wish to read the review.
