I was between books when I grabbed this one from the break room at work. I like mysteries, and I thought that is what it would mostly be about, but no. I had just finished reading the Thirteenth Tale, so compared to that I would probably give this one or no stars. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't recommend it either because there are so many really good books out there to spend your time reading.

Full of suspense, fun, new found love, and drama. A fun, fast read. Coulter never fails for me. Listened to this book on CD this time. There was all this commentary on soap opera tv. I didn't like the plot being interrupted like this. I should take off a star for that, but I'll ignore it. When you filter that out, it's still a fun read.

Mary Lisa has a stalker, but no one can come up with any legitimate ideas. None of her friends can imagine someone trying to harm her and the police are out of leads.
During one of her visits to her hometown and less-than-welcoming family, she and her friends manage to step smack-down in the middle of a murder investigation.
The reason for the switches between real-life and the story on Born to be Wild is never really clear, but the factoids at the beginning of each chapter are interesting.
Lots of action, romance and interesting people make this an amusing way to spend a couple of hours.

This probably wasn't the Catherine Coulter book that I have liked best. There was a little too much romance, and not enough of the suspense or fast moving plot. Mary Lisa Beverly had rather an overdone name, and that wasn't because she was a soap opera star--that was the name she was born with--or given when she was born. Two sisters with their romantic problems, and all the colleagues, plus the author had to bring Chief Jack Wolf down from the hometown in what apparently was Oregon, for no particular reason. The villain and his motivation were weak--interesting reading, but not her best.
