I am extremely happy that we went back to Kelewan!!

The experience was truly remarkable. The moment we arrived, it felt like coming home. The familiar sights and sounds greeted us, and it was as if time had stood still.

And that drop at the end, it was both thrilling and nerve-wracking. It made my heart race and my hands tremble. But in that moment, I also felt a sense of excitement and adventure.

Going back to Kelewan was a decision I will never regret. It gave me a chance to relive some of my favorite memories and create new ones. I can't wait to go back again and explore more of this wonderful place.

Overall, it was an amazing trip, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have gone back to Kelewan.

The Darkwar Saga represents yet another exciting installment in the adventures of the magician Pug. It also serves as a continued exploration of the vast and intricate universe that Feist has crafted for his novels.

One of the most captivating aspects of Feist's universe is its sheer expansiveness. It encompasses not only planets and space but also various realms of existence, both higher and lower dimensions. This is a truly original concept, as seen in the connection between Midkemia and Kelewan through the Rift, which was detailed in the Riftwar Saga. In the Darkwar series, the conflict takes an even more intriguing turn with a potential invasion through a rift from a completely different realm, similar to a different dimension.

However, one of the most frustrating elements of Feist's universe is also its expansiveness. The connections between realms or levels of reality are often poorly explained, making it a challenging concept to fully grasp. This requires a significant suspension of disbelief and only really works within the context of a magical setting. While I do appreciate Feist's idea of the Hall of Worlds, a magically accessible connection to distant planets and places, I struggle to understand why we have to constantly change realms to introduce new disasters for Pug and Midkemia. A great deal of text is dedicated to explaining the setting and how these realm changes will impact the characters.

Despite these criticisms, the imagined culture of the Dasati invaders is fascinating, and the story is filled with engaging action and heroic moments. Favorite characters from previous stories make welcome appearances, adding to the overall enjoyment of the series. Overall, the Darkwar Saga is a fun and entertaining read for fans of Feist's works.

Holy fucking Christ!

I was truly not expecting that.

It came as such a complete surprise. I had no inkling or hint that something like this was going to happen.

My mind is still reeling from the shock of it all.

I had made certain assumptions and expectations, but they were completely shattered.

It's as if the ground beneath my feet suddenly gave way.

I'm left here dumbfounded, trying to process what just occurred.

How could this have happened? I keep asking myself.

There was no way I could have predicted this turn of events.

It's going to take some time for me to come to terms with it.

This is another favorite of mine written by Feist.

There isn't an abundance of plot resolution. In fact, one could argue that the purpose of this novel is merely to set the stage for the third book in this series. However, despite that, I have a deep affection for this book. Feist does an outstanding job of introducing and constructing an alien culture that is warped and distinct from anything I've encountered in other books.

There is a great deal happening in this book, and Feist presents us with a diverse cast of characters. So, if crazy-powerful wizards don't appeal to you, there is also a group of young men striving to carve out their place in the world. Admittedly, there are no spell-hurling battles that take place, but the action that does occur is engaging and well-written.

This is my second time reading "Into A Dark Realm," and I loved it just as much the second time around as I did the first. It's a captivating read that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

A Sequel That Didn't Let Me Down

If I were to recommend these books to anyone, they would stand out quite tall in a genre that is often filled with the same old thing. I truly love them. The sequel managed to build upon the foundation of the first book while adding new and exciting elements. It took the story in directions I never expected, yet it all felt so natural and engaging. The characters continued to develop and grow, making me even more invested in their lives and adventures. The plot was filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I can't wait to see what else this series has in store for us. It's definitely a must-read for fans of the genre.

Continuity flaws are aplenty in this novel.

The overall story is indeed fun and entertaining, yet there are some rather glaring continuity issues that are solely within this book and really stand out.

Spoilers are to follow.

Early on in the novel, Milamber visits Sinboya and a great deal is made of the fact that Sinboya knows it's Milamber because of his wards. However, Varren/Wyntakata is somehow able to simply walk past these wards and kill Sinboya? How can this master of wards not have wards that can detect someone who is possessed? It's truly unbelievable.

The name of Valko's mother changes. Earlier in the novel it is Naureen, only to become Narueen in the latter part.

At the University, Jommy is in a duel with Godfrey while training and does something to Godfrey. Later, while on a mission with Jommy, Servan talks to Jommy about that duel as if he were the one who won the duel, not Godfrey. I even went back and checked the names because it bothered me so much. After all, the events are only 6 chapters apart. How difficult can it be to maintain this continuity?

In one chapter at the University, Brother Timothy is telling them to go and see Brother Stephen, yet then tells them to go and see Brother Timothy?

These are not the minor grammatical errors that one might expect to see, but rather things that an author and editor should most definitely have caught.

Consequently, this novel receives a 2-star review.

This dragged on for quite a while. There was indeed some action involving Tad, Zane, and Jommy, but the majority of it was just talk, and more talk. There were some startling revelations along the way, but it ended on a rather annoying cliffhanger.

The story-telling was what really annoyed me the most. There was Pug's story, Tad & Zane's story, and Miranda's story. It kept jumping from one story line to another, and that's my least favorite way to write. I hate getting involved in one character's story and then suddenly switching to some other characters and finding out what's going on with them.

It makes it difficult to really engage with the characters and the plot. I would have preferred a more linear approach to the story-telling, where one story is told from start to finish before moving on to the next. That way, I could have become more invested in each character and their journey.

Overall, while there were some interesting elements to the story, the way it was told really detracted from my enjoyment of it. I hope that in future installments, the author will consider a different approach to the story-telling to make it more engaging and enjoyable for readers.

Certainly, a great deal took place in this installment of the series. There was extremely limited space for the trademark philosophical discourses. It was both refreshing and yet, a bit perplexing, as the point of view shifted from one character to another.

We monitored, four? sets of characters: Miranda and Sorcerer's Island/Kelewen, Pug and the expedition, Vaskaro's upbringing, and the boy's college/military education in Roldem.

I sense that many of the names and places are beginning to blend together, particularly the complexities of the Olasko/Roldem region. I have the impression that I should glean more from that, but it has been far too long since I read the Talwin books.

Nonetheless, I am quite intrigued by how the series will unfold, and I did indeed relish the story.

This is a 300-page confused set-up before the plot twist that the author seems to want to put in the next book. Unfortunately, it has the character of canned food.

It lacks the freshness and excitement that one would expect from a truly engaging story. The plot seems to be meandering aimlessly, with no clear direction or purpose.

The characters are not well-developed, and it is difficult to feel any connection or empathy for them. The writing style is also rather平淡, without any real flair or creativity.

Overall, this set-up fails to capture the reader's attention and leaves one feeling disappointed and unfulfilled. It remains to be seen if the author can salvage the situation with the next book and deliver a more satisfying and engaging story.

This was by far the most captivating Midkemia book I have read since "A Darkness at Sethanon". Feist has truly returned to his former glory. Pug and Co.'s adventure in the realm of the Dasati is extremely spine-chilling, and Miranda finally steps into her own. It is wonderful to catch some glimpses of Tsurannuanni and the Great Ones on Kelewan, as well as a tiny bit of back history that occurred after the end of the "Empire" series.

Overall, this makes me happy that I persevered through the less-than-stellar times (the Serpentwar and Conclave of Shadows series) because this is a return to form for Feist. However, there are reasons why it doesn't rate a full 5 stars. There is a lack of female characters, and even fewer interactions between women. Also, for goodness sake, Mr. Feist, please have someone check your continuity! There are far too many mistakes in timelines, character names, and places.

Despite these flaws, the book still manages to be an engaging and exciting read, and I look forward to seeing what Feist has in store for us next in the Midkemia series.

My copy has the black cover. It was pre-ordered, which means I reserved it in advance before its official release. This ensured that I would be among the first to get my hands on it. And it was bought brand new, so it is in pristine condition. There are no scratches, no marks, and everything is as it should be.

I am really excited about this copy. The black cover gives it a sleek and stylish look, making it stand out among other books. The fact that it was pre-ordered and brand new adds to its value and makes it even more special to me. I can't wait to start reading it and explore the wonderful world that it has to offer.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in this particular book or genre.
