Another highly enjoyable book that carries on the thrilling adventures of Jinto and Lafiel. The story unfolds with new challenges and exciting developments that keep the readers on the edge of their seats. However, the nonending aspect of the book is a bit of a letdown. It leaves the readers craving for more and wondering what will happen next. Despite this, the book is still a great read, filled with engaging characters and a captivating plot. The author has done a great job of creating a unique and immersive world that the readers can easily get lost in. Overall, it's a fun book that is sure to please fans of the series.

I still have a deep love for the relationship and the witty banter that exists between Jinto and Lafier.

Interestingly, I don't recall the anime being as humorously engaging as the books have proven to be. This has led me to consider giving the anime a rewatch at some point in the future.

One particular scene that stands out as my absolute favorite is the surprise inspection scene. It was so hilarious that it had me cracking up with laughter.

In addition to the entertaining story and characters, we also get to learn about the history of the Abh, which I found to be extremely interesting.

Overall, I am eagerly looking forward to the release of the next volume. This series is truly great stuff and has kept me thoroughly entertained.

It has been an incredibly long time since I last watched and read this particular piece. However, even after all this time, I still vividly remember how enjoyable it was. The settings within it were highly credible, transporting me into a world that felt real and engaging.

The characters were truly lovable, each with their own unique personalities and traits that made them easy to root for. Their interactions and relationships added depth and heart to the story.

The action scenes were exciting and well-executed, keeping me on the edge of my seat throughout. And the plot twists were masterfully done, adding an element of surprise and unpredictability that kept me engaged from start to finish.

All in all, this was a truly remarkable piece of work that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an entertaining and engaging read/watch. There's really not much else to say except that it's definitely worth checking out!

This is the part of the story that truly amplifies the whole trope where the tsundere princess requires a man to educate her about the ways of the world and she has to "be a woman", wear a dress, and all that nonsense which really undermines any semblance of seriousness the character might have had. Morioka discusses how Lafiel came to him as a muse, but what we end up with is more of a stereotype than a real, fleshed-out person.

However, I will say that Lafiel is intelligent and is prepared to shoot people when necessary, so it's not completely spoiled by her constantly being in distress and relying on Jinto to rescue her. Jinto, of course, treats her as if she is always on the verge of falling into trouble, and it's rather painful to witness.

We also get to learn the Abh origin story that the anime doesn't quite convey clearly (if at all?), and we also have a mountain of Baronh to study as well... yay. Combined with TokyoPop's penchant for taking the easy way out, well, I hope you've memorized all of that.

The original trilogy achieved a significant milestone by winning the Seiun in 1997. It is truly an enjoyable space opera that offers a light-hearted and entertaining experience.

However, in the English translation, there is a minor drawback. The presence of parentheticals that provide Baronh transliterations for words whose meanings have just been rendered in English can slightly disrupt the flow. As the editor mentioned in Volume I, in the Japanese version, the Baronh was placed in "rubi" (furigana) above the kanji, resulting in a less obstructed linear flow.

Moreover, when only the Baronh transliterations are given, which is quite common, it forces the reader to either refer to the glossary or make an effort to commit the term to memory. These two factors combined make the book a slightly less effortless and quick read compared to what it could have been otherwise.

Nevertheless, despite these small inconveniences, the overall charm and engaging nature of the original trilogy still shine through, captivating readers with its exciting space adventures and imaginative storyline.
